Look at my prices and tell me they are not realistic. I could easily get close to this after my local 15% consignment fee
Since you asked me directly, I actually looked at all three of your ads.
No, I don't think your prices are generally unrealistic, but I think there's a difference between “realistic asking price,” “what someone will actually pay today,” and “what I could net after consignment.”
The BCM/LWRC at $1,200: I don't think that's crazy considering the BCM complete upper, LWRC lower, Geissele trigger and Geissele charging handle. But it's still a used mixed-build AR, and those are notoriously difficult to sell for the sum of their components. RustVendor's $1,339 new LWRC isn't apples-to-apples, but it's absolutely relevant because that's another option sitting in front of the same buyer. I think $1,000–1,100 would be a perfectly reasonable offer, while $1,200 is also a reasonable price to hold out for if you're in no hurry. As RustVendor pointed out, you'd probably recover more of the premium parts' value by selling them separately.
The Echelons: $600 without the COA seems reasonable to me. $1,100 with the COA feels high
. Springfield's factory 4.0C/COA package had an MSRP around $1,119, and we've seen complete new packages advertised nationally around $800. The COA may be roughly a $600 optic new, but putting a $600 optic on a $600 used pistol doesn't automatically make it a $1,200 used package. Accessories generally depreciate harder, and the package buyer has to specifically want that optic. I'd see roughly $950–1,000 as more attractive. $1,100 isn't insane, but it's getting awfully close to new-package MSRP.
The Tikka T3x TAC A1: I think this is your strongest price. $1,600 for a ~30-round left-handed 6.5 Creedmoor looks completely reasonable. Comparable., used TAC A1s are in roughly the $1,500–1,750 neighborhood, with left-handed examples sometimes higher. $700 for the Tenmile HX doesn't strike me as unreasonable either, so I think your $2,300 combined price is defensible. The $4,600 you spent OTD isn't really relevant to its used value, but you're already recognizing that yourself by asking about half of it.
As far as consignment, if your local shop really only charges 15%, that's a very good consignment rate compared with the 20–30% I've commonly seen. But even at 15%, to net $1,200 they have to sell the rifle for about
$1,412; to net $1,100 on the Echelon/COA they need about $1,294; and to net $2,300 on the Tikka package they need about $2,706. Plus there's the consignment waiting period we already discussed. So I wouldn't automatically equate your current PPT asking prices with what you'd “easily” net by consigning them.
The part I do think is inconsistent is your treatment of the G19 Gen 4. You said anyone paying more than $500 for one is a sucker because an Echelon is a better gun for the money. That's a perfectly valid reason for
you not to buy one, but it doesn't determine market value. If G19.4s are changing hands in the CA PPT market for $700–900, that's their market value whether either of us thinks they're worth it or not. Otherwise someone can make exactly the same argument about your rifle: “Anyone paying $1,200 for a used BCM/LWRC build is a sucker when I can buy a complete new LWRC for $1,339.” Their preference doesn't make your rifle worth $700 any more than your preference for an Echelon makes his Glock worth $500.
So to answer your question directly: No, I don't think you're wildly overpriced. I think the Tikka is fair, the bare Echelons are fair, the AR is defensible but I'd expect negotiation, and the COA package is high. But I also don't think it's fair to call buyers lowballers based on what
you think their stuff should be worth while expecting them to recognize every dollar of value in yours.
