at a certain age some things matter a lot more than money. Time being the biggest one.

Sure time is money but then just don't sell it if the effort to sell is too great. You're sinking time into trying to sell the gun for no payoff and losing money to inflation everyday it sits.

Yeah I’ve got a few pistols for sale right now for which I’ve received low-balls and flakes. One thing that is frustrating is when a potential buyer uses pricing for a different (and usually on roster) variant to claim my price is too high when I’m not even that far above the on roster variant price and mine has OEM+ type upgrades.

Its rare to see something online at a good deal but it does sometime happen.

Low offers keep people on a realistic level. If you have something listed at 2k and get 6 people who offer $800 you might need to look at your item and see if you are being realistic.

If one has something listed at $2K for which comparable weapons have sold for $800, yes one should reevaluate their price. Sometimes though there aren’t really many comps for something that’s rare, or people just offer a low ball hoping the seller wants a quick sale. When I’m selling if I’ve got something listed for $800 and you offer me $300 we’re too far apart, but if you offer me $700 I’ll probably suggest meeting in the middle at $750. There are offers for which negotiations make sense and those for which it does not.

I’ve seen that too. I’ve sent PMs saying I’m willing to buy at the listed price and have been ignored.

I made an offer on a PPK/S a few weeks ago and he said he had buyers at his asking price.... a month later it's still for sale lmao. Some of these guys are just really weird about selling guns. I don't get it. Ultimately it's just an appliance.

If you list something for $800 that new is closer to $600 and during special sales even closer to $500 you are hoping the person who buys it really really really wants that specific model exactly... For the average person they just want to get a deal and $300 seems like a fair initial offer.

Every scenario is going to be different. Just like the people who "bubba" out there gun thinking they increased the value but sometimes its the opposite.

Eh, listing it costs nothing so some people just do it. I have a buddy that will list collectibles just to see what people are will to pay. I don’t get it but those people are out there.

Yep! Then they get back to you like two weeks later after you found another one and already done the PPT.

Low ballers are not the plague of the forums. I've reached out and said, "I'll take it". People on this very forum flamed me, saying I was ripping the guy off because he didn't know what he had. That's his responsibility. The seller pulled the listing a reposted the gun significantly higher. These are the same people who shout free markets.

It was a Colt Marine Pistol with Marine Corp Roll Marks. It's not my fault he didn't know what he had. I don't think it ever sold at the higher price.

it's listed for 1200, but I made a whole comment about that, no one even knows it has a geissele charging handle and which geissele trigger it is. LIke I said, ARs are hard to sell used, I'm just relaying my own experience having sold like 10 over the past 10 years on calguns and here. You will get more money if you take those nice parts and sell them separately.

I know I could make more but honestly I don’t care to. 1200 is a great price and it will sell one day. I’m in no rush. If anything I’ll just give it away to someone I know or sell it to them for $300
