If you really care to look into it, there were instances where Elon initiated communications with Epstein.
For example, it was Elon who initiated the chain of communications about visiting Epstein's island for the "wildest parties" and "let loose".
This is well after Epstein pled guilty to charges including solicitation of prostitution involving a minor.

You’re comparing a person associating with someone (merely political donors) before their crimes were publicly known to people who have had decades long relationships or chose to engage with a convicted sex pedophile sex-trafficker, after the conviction.
