Filled my second tag Friday evening. Just a doe tag and not worthy of a picture, but here is a picture of it butchered out and ready for the freezer.

Damn you are making my mouth water for deer bbq. I have never hunted in Kali. and only hunted ducks and geese here. In 2008 I started deer hunting with my best friend of 49 years in Montana. I was an ol fart of 60 then. Went back every year till 2021 when health issues took front stage and missed 22 for the same reason. Then got drawn in 23 got a muley doe and a whitetail buck. Not drawn for 24 but have a tag for this year. We have had some fun fire drills over the years.

Went quail hunting on some private land yesterday.

Saw a dozen antelope on the way in.

Not my best shooting day (missed a few), but we had a good time.

My buddy got 6, I got 4.
I know the picture shows 9, but he found one more when he was unloading when he got home.

I did have a slight boot malfunction around 10am.

Duct taped it back together and carried on hunting the rest of the day.

Following up on my previous post...

I opened up some of their crops, looks like they've been eating acorns and grass.
Bismuth and steel shot were used.

We went out yesterday and scratched out a few quail.
Came across 5-6 rocks that were once used for grinding acorns.

Loaded some 75gr Hammer Hunter Tipped bullets for my 243. They leave the muzzle at over 3400 fps and worked well on this coyote at 154 yards.
