WTF Glendale

That’s a load of crap. As long as the handgun is legally registered, which is a whole different issue, why can’t we add it onto the CCW permit.

IMO the whole listing my firearm on the CCW is also BS, I don’t list the cars I’m driving so why is it that I have to list the firearms that I’m legally able to carry?
Actully, your cars are registered and there are certain criteria and restrictions on what can and can't be registered. Plus, there is something called a SMOG check that has to be done in certain intervals otherwise your car can't be registered aka legally driven.

You don’t have to qualify with each car and have it listed on your driver license.
And let’s not forget- driving is privilege, bearing arms is constitutional right.

Sure but you can lower it, add wheels, exhaust, tint, and a tune, and it will reg and pass SMOG so not really sure of the point you are making here.

Honestly I wouldn’t get a CCW. CA just wants to restrict your rights and doesn’t want people to have firearms to protect themselves. Any government that is actively trying to disarm its citizens has something evil up their sleeves. When it comes to carrying I would just act like a normal American 😉

Trying hard to be law abiding citizen and don’t want to be in this position

The policy makes no sense if one understands the Roster. Every gun on the Roster today will fall off the Roster on 1/1/27, unless the mfg pays the price to stay. While these fees are usually paid prior to the new year, some are not, resulting in a period when the gun is off roster then added back.

Additionally, since the mfg can decide at any time to discontinue the Roster registration, a licensee could begin their 2-year period with an on-Roster gun and at the 1/2-way point be carrying a non-Roster gun.

The odds here are that the agency has mis-read SB 2 to mean "On-Roster" when it says "Recorded owner".
Another reason this makes no sense is because manufacturers let their products fall off the roster after they are discontinued. You can buy something that’s on the roster, list on your CCW, then have it become off roster if it goes out of production.

The article is wrong and those “crimes” are misdemeanors. Or course the media would be misrepresenting facts when it comes to a self defense shooting in SF haha.i guarantee he is thankful he was carrying that day otherwise the outcome would be much worse.

I haven’t had as much as traffic ticket for over 10 years. I sure don’t want misdemeanor on my record. You do you brother

Being convicted of concealed carrying without a permit even as the misdemeanor portion of the wobbler results in a ban on your ability to own/possess firearms for 10 years. Not to mention once that's on your record you're absolutely going to face an almost impossible battle with any future IAs after that ban expires should you try to go the legal route of applying for a ccw.

Yes, this all sucks and restrictions are unjust, but we play within the rules as they are currently. Not to mention the USSC has confirmed that licensing schemes are legal so we're out of luck on that piece for now.

I know I am in the minority here (and elsewhere) but my 3 CCW guns are bone stock. They are off roster as my IA allows but bone stock. No trigger mods, No Red Dots, No mods at all. Even though my IA allows lights and other, I've chosen to remain completely stock. I can shoot them with iron sights very well for my CCW needs. Plus easier for me to conceal.

While Glendale SUCKS for making you choose on roster guns, any decent on roster gun will save your life in a CCW scenario. Since I'm really good looking and look terrible in orange, I try to steer clear of any situation that will get me tangled up with some Liberal Prosecutor and a Jury of my liberal gun hating peers.

(Just to be clear, I do not agree with any restrictions nor do I agree with having do any of this jumping through hoops for the right to carry, but here we are)

Good luck in Glendale . . .

Things keep getting worse ever since we got new chief a few months ago. That’s when roster only requirement started and fees went up.
I do have some mods on p365 - flat trigger and dot. Off roster model that somehow got approved has no LCI, safety or MD. C3.6 has only red dot, bg2.0 lost MD during cleaning
All “mods” were done long before range qualification and approval, no rules were broken

2 are bone stock and 1 has a reddot (Hellcat Micro) and I checked with LASD and they said it was fine.
Yeah my worry is more what could come up in a Civil Case (which will come after a shooting) or even a Criminal Case where some liberal Lawyer/DA standing in front of a Jury spouting off . . .

"The defendant not only shot my poor client on his way to church, he did it with a gun called a HELLCAT that had one of those deadly accurate Red Dots. Yep the kind the snipers and hitmen use. The Defendant could have shot my client in the leg instead he kilt him with his deadly Red Dot HELLCAT Semi Auto Killing Machine! Not only that he was on a gun forum talking about how to sneak an OFF ROSTER Semi Auto Killing Machine onto his CCW" ;)

Most of that is highly illegal in CA lmfao. They even scan your PC and fail the car if it has a tune now.

This is dumb af, sorry. Being arrested and going to jail SUCKS. Then you will lose your gun rights for at least ten years as well. Just pony up the few hundred bucks and enjoy the class

I don't think this is accurate. I got charged with carrying without a license, carrying within city limits and poss. of AW when I was in the Navy, got the felony AW dropped to a misdemeanor and the carrying charges dismissed in the interest of justice, and Sac Sheriff didn't really care and issued my permit. Wasn't even a big deal in the interview. I also had a TRO filed against me by my ex gf, in which the judge denied the full order, still got CCW.
