"Based" has been appropriated by the alt-right (far-right, white nationalists, aka "racists") online as a general term of praise, as if “un-woke.”
For a while it just meant "accurate" though, right? I had trans friends saying it when they agreed with something.

My ready-to-go AR and G17. I selected my firearms specifically for low maintenance and abundance of available parts and ammo. .223/5.56 and 9mm are the most common calibers out there.

CCW and a long gun for getting food (22lr or another preferred caliber ).

The thinking is humans are communal and will have more success surviving as a group, so having a defensive concealed handgun will be the most important. A second gun should be for hunting or food gathering, and since smaller animals will be more abundant a 22lr can be more useful, or can go for a larger caliber for larger animals if appropriate.

Leave the CQC for tactical warriors and Rambos, during SHTF a cut or small wound can lead to death via infection, no need to increase that risk with dodging lead bullets.

I never took it to mean just "accurate". I always took it to have a particular "political" slant. Like a secret handshake among a certain group. If you go on social media like instagram, X, or reddit, you'll almost always see the word used in a political context in praise of something that is seen as "un-woke" or "anti-woke".

Load up the green tips
I wasn't a door kicker but I've heard nothing but bad opinions on green tips from dudes that have had trigger time between those and others. I have a couple hundred rounds of it just cuz it was on sale waaaay back in like 2012 but I standardized on M193 and Speer GDSP 75gr. M193 for longer guns, the Speer is for pistols

So anybody that laughs when your buddies cut their balls off is an alt-right, white nationalist? K lol

It's a pistol, a heavy one, but it's a pistol.
A PTR PDW rip off, HK91K or something.

In this picture it has a mag lock on, and of course a 5 round hunting mag is usually locked in place.

In a SHTF situation the CA-comp lock and mag are removed and a nice 20 round pre-ban slipped (legally owned) in.

This carries across the back discreetly, and makes so much noise, flame and chaos, you might miss but still be logistically effective.
The ammo is easily scroungable 7.62x51mm NATO or .308 they both work and it's crazy reliable - thrives on grease and dirt.
The sights are big and bright and set up for me to hit what i point at.
The flashlight might help in a pinch, too.

May I ask just what is your concept of SHTF would be like?

To me SHTF is when I catch someone breaking into my home or someone trying to assault me or my own, doom to them.
Anything else is apocalyptic and pure fantasy thinking.
I had a buddy that just hoards ammo and has reloading equipment to no end but never goes shooting, to me he is insane lol.
Claims the fires in CA come from beams in outer space, the IDF was the ones who killed all the people to set up Hamas and that only McDonalds uses baby flesh in their hamburgers after the jew's extract the proteins that kept Betty White alive (she was the sister of Barbara Bush according to him) along with Hillary & Nancy.
Scary world and the saddest part is he is smart otherwise.

Just what is SHTF?
To me it's pure fantasy and let me tell you, I hope I am at ground zero as the last thing I want to do is try and survive where there is nothing.
I find this thinking completely insane and yes, I have known those that had this thought process many years ago, they are all dead from natural causes lol.
Except it isnt. wild fires, freak winter events, civil unrest etc. If YOU choose to throw in the towel that's on you. Don't disparage those that might try to survive.

for me SHTF is any situation where I might be forced out of the comfort of my home for a few days or more, to include, the wildernwess or homeless situation. In that event I now choose 44 mag because it can kill anything that lives inside or outside without much hassle.

The reality is if you are running around with a bunch of OVERT 💩 you are at a disadvantage during daylight hours in anything but a foreign nation evasion. In which case if you have IR and or thermal to include their countermeasures then you own the night.

If it ever happens, I’m staying put. My home is my best defensible position. To think I’d be better off mucking around the wilderness is madness.

At my home, I have food, water, tons of supplies, etc., etc……. And should it ever get that far, the rotting bodies scattered around my home would suggest to even the most stupid asailent to go somewhere else.

Might not be up to you concerning where you stay. If you can stay at home indefinitely, I might suggest the TS HAS NOT HTF in your local yet.

I would choose a semiautomatic rifle in 308 Winchester/7.62x51mm. I do like the M1A, but there are many rifles to choose from. An AR10 would be a good choice. Barrel would be 18" long.

My service pistol would be in 10mm, so I'd choose the Glock 20.4.

Remember this is SHTF, so carrying a small 9mm semiauto makes no sense. You can conceal far more gun than you think. The 10mm gets me low to middle 357 Magnum ballistics. I could go with a revolver in 44 Magnum, which could make quite a bit of sense in certain situations. However, humans will be the most powerful predator of other humans, so the Glock 20 wins. I can always use the rifle on critters.
