The line i hear the most is "well if you really need the money."Yeah, low ballers suck, the plague of any sale forum and irl.
Which honestly pisses me off more. No, I do not sellThe line i hear the most is "well if you really need the money."
Im just trying to clean the safe up lol
anyone paying more than $500 for a gen 4 that isn't compatible with any other gen parts is a sucker. Its a glock. A echelon is a better product for the same price used.Unfortunately a Gen 4 Glock isn’t usually $500 around here
Lmao meanwhile I offer to pay a guy on here's asking price and he won't budge on going more than 10 min from his house, I live 1.5+ hours away from the East Bay, so I offer to drive all the way (buyer has to go twice ofc) and ask for a small $60 discount to cover mileage and suggest Elite Armory since they're nearby and a forum sponsor and the guy just ghosts me. On his gun that has been for sale for like 1.5 years. Nice. Saved me the money I guessThe lowballing here is why i just end up consigning
Ignoring someone that lowballs you less than half asking price or whatever ridiculous price I think is ok1. if you don't try you will never know what deal you are missing out on.
2 not a single thing wrong with saying no or completely ignoring
I get why people pay for them but it's still a sucker price. They're just not worth more than $400-500 used. People are making emotional deals - but it's a free country rightUnfortunately a Gen 4 Glock isn’t usually $500 around here
I strongly agree on this point. Caguns specifically has been an unusual experience for me. I believe California gun culture is in a bubble of some kind, different from other states and other hobbies. The art of negotiating is lost on many.
Echelon isn’t compatible with any generation Glock parts if that’s what you mean.anyone paying more than $500 for a gen 4 that isn't compatible with any other gen parts is a sucker. Its a glock. A echelon is a better product for the same price used.
Echelon is based off gen 3 but made into a FCU full ambi pistol.
I was guilty of this. Had posted a lower for too much… ended up lowering the price then pretty quickly made a deal when I was back on Earth.Lowball buyers are annoying, but there’s another side to this:
We have plenty of sellers with ridiculous asking prices too, sometimes apparently expecting to recover every dollar they put into a gun. Guns aren't magically exempt from depreciation. Nobody buys a new car, drives it for a year, adds $5,000 in wheels and accessories, and expects the next owner to reimburse them for the car plus every dollar they spent modifying it. Yet we see that mentality with guns all the time. Accessories and modifications are usually even worse—a $500 optic, $300 trigger and $200 worth of other parts don't automatically add $1,000 to the used value, and often they're worth considerably less installed than they would be sold separately.
Off-roster guns in particular seem to bring out the worst of it. Yes, scarcity can justify a premium in California, but “off roster” doesn't automatically mean whatever number the seller decides to put on it.
So yeah, offering $600 on a fairly priced $1,000 gun is ridiculous. But asking $4,500 for something realistically worth $2,500 and hoping somebody who doesn't know better will bite is the other side of the same coin.
Buyers are free to make offers, sellers are free to say no, and ultimately the market decides. A ridiculous offer takes about three seconds to decline or ignore.
