The bodyguard 2.0 has been added!

Same. I currently have a Shield and was contemplating a Shield Plus or X as my next purchase simply for more capacity over the Shield 1.0.
Just added these to my son's gun:

Can someone brief me on the difference between SW Shield and SW Bodyguard? Is it just the .380 and 9mm calibers?

Here's a comparison of the Bodyguard 2.0 vs. the M&P Shield 9.

And here's one between the Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp and M&P 9 Shield Plus Carry Comp.

I love this site. I could nerd out all day.

What make these stand out from other .380?
For the size and capacity there's really no other contender other than the LCP max for ultimate pocket carry pistols. The bodyguard 2.0 however is reportedly less snappy, and has an option for a compensated version.

Going smaller than either of these two and you sacrifice capacity and shootability. They're pretty much as small and thin as you can get while being able to carry 10 rounds.

Good to see it added.

I just bought the LCP Max 2 months ago because it was so inexpensive, and I prefer no manual safety, so would I have seriously considered this one for more money, I don’t know?

Since getting it, I feel it completely displaces the super compact 9mm’s. My brain goes to super ultralight carry or full size, no in between needed.

Late last year I got to the point where I was sick of carrying a gun. 34 years of LE does that. I have a Glock 42 but the trigger slap prohibited me from shooting it much. And even though the chances of me ever needing a gun, much less more than the 7 rounds the Glock carried, still nagged at me. I looked around some and even though the Bodyguard looked great, everyone and some on this forum, said it would never make it here. So I picked up a LCP Max. I have a couple extra mags and a couple holsters and I’m good to go. It shoots nice, carries well and I even got the safety version, but I have the option of engaging it or not. Plus 10 plus one rounds is nothing to sneeze at in such a small package . In my opinion, folks make too much of a deal about safeties on carry guns, forgetting that everyone back in the day who carried a 1911 or Hi Power, had one and trained around it. But that’s a conversation for another day. Sorry for the sidetrack.

After reading about the Bodyguard coming to CA today, i’d be all over it if I didn’t have the Ruger. But again, the chances of me ever needing a gun are so remote, I’m not going to put out the money for the gun, holtster(s) and ammo to make sure it works. Plus a quick search of the SW Forum shows lots of folks unhappy with their Bodyguards and having to send it back for repair(s).

Any word on BG 2.0 arriving to stores yet (for fulfilling preorders)? I know the initial rumor was 3-4 weeks and we are now officially on Day 21. Not that anyone is counting 😄

I checked with 2A Zone on day one and they didn't have the gun in their system yet. I'm definitely gonna pick up a BG 2.0 and am considering the Carry Comp vs. the regular.
