Yeah submitted mine on 1/5 and it is still pending being assigned... my expiration date was 5/1.

Emailed them about it to see if anything was wrong and they said they are still processing them.

Looks like my renewal is in the same time in queue as yours. 120 days from submission to assignment to processor.
Next renewal I will submit closer to the 180 days allowed.
 
Yeah mine showed up last week. It was issued on 5/16. Mine expired on 5/1.
 
Everything was submitted at the same time and there were zero changes.

I'll start - initially applied Feb 2023, postponed interview three times and finally completed the interview Nov 2023. Still waiting for the calll.

I applied mid October had my appointment 2 weeks after and I just needed my lease agreement renewed turned it 2 months after now I’m approved just got to take my firearms certification
 
Has anyone gone through the process and had to get a psych evaluation? Got mine done a little over a week ago and was wondering how long it would take to hear back after the eval.

I hope that’s the case, that would explain a lot although they don’t disclose what the reason is nor are they obligated to tell me. So I will never know. I’m just baffled that I’m allowed to purchase guns, I am just not be able to use them for self-defense. It’s like, you can buy this car but you’re not allowed to drive it, you’re only able to drive in your house.

Anyways, I’ll give it shot and appeal it, worse they can say is no again. Although, I hope you get a call soon and wish you the best of luck.

Have you thought about or asked the IA about re-applying Post SB-2 since it’s no longer about good moral character? And ask for the person who did your background investigation, with your profile, if they would deny you for endangerment to the public/community or any other reason for denial since it’s no longer about good moral character.

They removed “Good Cause” and not good moral character. Most states have a form of good moral character for CCW issue as well in the case of a background check (DUI being a disqualifier for example).

What? Pre-bruen was good cause; not good moral character. Post bruen was good moral character; no longer about good cause.

Post sb-2 is about prohibited or not from owning firearms or prohibited from the sb-2 list of offenses which prohibit for a certain period of time, no longer about good cause or good moral character, however IA can deny based on if they feel like if you are an endangerment to the public/community; this is how my IA described the post sb-2 criteria to me.

I posted because I fell into a similar situation but in a county up here in nor-cal. I applied post bruen but pre-sb2, thinking I fit the criteria of good moral character since I turned my life around since a juvenile; waited 1.5 years just to be denied. I was honest about my juvenile records that were sealed after turning 18 years old, no charges as an adult; only a speeding ticket as an adult. IA denied me, without a chance for an interview, spoke with an LT of internal affairs, asked why I was denied since none of them were juvenile convictions and juvenile records were sealed, was told they judge on a LIFETIME OF GOOD MORAL CHARACTER, there was no appeals process, can’t even write a letter for an appeals; thank you for being honest on the app and we appreciate that. However, to fix it, I was told to re-apply since its post sb-2. I was surprised they could see more into the police reports of my juvenile charges even though they were sealed; they mentioned notes from different stories.

I asked if my misdemeanor battery charge as a juvenile that I went to juvenile hall for would be a basis for denial as an endangerment to the public or community; IA told me no. They said since it’s pre-sb2, the chief would deny, and can’t risk an audit from a doj of why they approved me. But based on my profile; nothing in my profile would be against me for a grounds of denial post sb-2.

The juvenile battery charge was a stupid choice, guy was picking on and harassing me but I made the first move, stupid choice, guy turned the story around on me instead in the statements, I learned what self defense was and what wasn’t at that age.

I re-applied, had to deal with the hassle of the sb-2 requirements, received my permit about 7 months later.

I officially expire today. I completed my renewal paperwork in July. I received the approved status email on the 3rd. Hopefully the new permit comes in the mail soon. Anyone have a timeline from approved to card in hand? Thank you.

Wow, they must have gotten slow since I renewed last year. I started the Permitium process on 8/5/24 and got my card on 10/31/24. I hope they're not as slow when I renew next year.
