Preferred EDC’s

Curious to know what ya’ll are carrying now a days….I have 5 on CA CCW list (Non-CA Hellcat & P365, CA Shield & Max-9 and Gen 4 G26 that I replaced a G43X that I ended up selling)…..I actually prefer carrying the Max-9 the most (very surprised)…… when traveling outside of California for work, I am somewhat old-school and still carry my HK P2000 .40 cal and CZ P01…..what do you all carry? 🤙🏽
I picked up my CCW last Tuesday. I went through LASD and it took two years. LASD only allows three guns and right now i have the full size Springfield xd9 with red dot and the glock 20. Not ideal for conceal carry but im in bear country a lot so thats why i added that one. I honestly didnt think i would end up getting the ccw so i didnt really have a good option to put on there. I will say though, i see a lot of people on here with 5k plus guns they are carrying and im not sure they are aware that they most likely wont see that gun again in the event of the use of their permit.

Congrats on the CCW…..I applied through LASD before we sold our place in Woodland Hills and it took them a little over a year just to schedule an interview but we had already sold our property and move to Thousand Oaks (Ventura County) had to re start the whole process….luckily it only took about 10 month to get my CCW through VC……2 years though whew! Glock 20 and XD 9 are good options 👏🏽 I was just about to comment about having an “Upscale” carry gun but you never know maybe the 5k gun is their most affordable option as a carry event that they use and PD takes it in as evidence 😁 You have some folks from CalGuns and here in CA Guns that have quite a collection 🤙🏽

I have the shield 9mm and Ruger Max 9 on my CCW and have been carrying the MAX 9 consistently. I’m more accurate with it and it has the 10rd which makes me prefer it.

I too have a Max-9 on my CCW and I am surprised how well the Max-9 performs…..it works really good for ME…..under $400 reliable carry 🤙🏽

Shield Plus, P365 Macro(Radian w/ Shalotek Flex XL grip), Springfield Echelon all off roster versions. The P365 & shield are what get carried the most. Echelon was put on for bigger setup and hopes of the future compact systems.
Nice! That Echelon 🔥 Gotta love off rosters though……I don’t mind the LCI but the MDI is what’s annoying at times….my hellcat & P365 are both off rosters but my Max-9 and Shield Plus are both CA models…..Glock 26 Gen 4 is not too shabby either but not much difference between Gen 3 and 4 Glocks…..nonetheless these 5 guns have served me well so far but getting a lot of great ideas from ya’ll when I renew my CCW in 2026 🙏🏽 Maybe I’ll find another 43x and replace the G26 🫡
During Hotter months I carry my Shield Plus. Other times my P365 or G19.
Can’t go wrong with P365 & G19 🔥

I had a gun I was carrying for security work that the disconnect failed and rendered the gun inoperable. I personally will not carry anything with one anymore that I am trusting my life to. Range guns etc. then I don't care if CA features are on them.

The Echelon is one of my favorite guns. Can't wait until it comes to CA so everyone can enjoy it and hoping Springfield releases more calibers and a compact soon.

Almost traded for an Echelon (I had a CZ P10C that the seller wanted)…….too bad the deal did not materialize…..really good gun based on reviews

I've been running a P365 Spectre Comp on a Wilson X-Macro grip module with a Holosun EPS carry. Big enough to handle like a compact frame, but still small enough to easily conceal whatever I'm wearing. Great capacity too. Really been enjoying it a lot.

G19. Have a 43x and while it’s nicer to carry I like grip and control of firing the 19 much more. If I don’t have a problem concealing I’ll choose the non subcompact frames first.

P365 Macro with Radian Afterburner and J Frame revolver in a pocket holster on summer hot days or days I don’t feel like carrying much. I just added the hellcat micro to my renewal.
