My first AR-15. Also my most accurate. Bought all the parts in ~2008. High Standard lower receiver. Installed a RRA lower parts kit with 2-stage trigger, using a YouTube video as guidance. The magic is in the upper though — cannot say enough good things about White Oaks Armament uppers and barrels. I bought their National Match Service Rifle upper with 20-inch stainless bull barrel. These are commonly used by Service Rifle competitors. I used this rifle for 10+ years in the matches held by my local shooting club. Once I put this one together and started reloading my own ammo tailored for it, it was a rare day when anybody in the club could beat me.



This is a 10-round group. My reloads, iron sights, 100 yards, from the bench. Admittedly, I am cherry-picking groups with this one, this is not normal, but pretty close to normal, swear to God. The X-ring is 1-inch diameter.



Here's another group when I was doing load development. 10 rounds, 100 yards, irons, from the bench. I settled on this load — 23.2 grains Ramshot TAC powder, Nosler CC 69-grain bullets, Lake City brass, meticulously prepped, and Winchester primers:

I was bored and decided a big bore AR sounded like a fun toy to build before the new years parts deadline came in. M&P15 lower, .50Beowulf upper from bear creek - maglock/klvrco kingpin pal for compliance. Tank break, simple red dot, magpul front furniture. It's been a riot to throw very large rounds down range and so far has been more reliable than expected given the cheap upper. The tank break throws crazy fireballs, which is always a good time. It will be fun to get it out in the desert with some watermelons and a high speed camera.

Here’s one of my home builds that turned out great. Super comfortable and although finicky in the beginning….figured out the buffer config it takes to get it running good. Reading below stats will make sense if you’ve ever built an AR.

Nice, clean and simple. I’ve had mixed reliability with those hex mags but I love how they look. I should also note that my experience with them is when they were first released

Nah….they are trash. I don’t even use them. Looks cool in pictures but I personally use metal 20’s plugged.
