New addition to the stable - PDP Compact

I was looking at that MM grip module for the compact, it's very tempting but the whole point in me getting this was a small light ccw. But man it looks nice. But i.also have a real 3" 1911 I don't need a 1911-ish. Or do I?

I completely understand. I have a p365 and the echelon on my ccw. The mm grip, for me is what made me love the pistol. I tried the sharps bros and the Icarus modules but wasn’t a fan for one reason or another. It does increase the weight but I like that for what it is. Im not sure I’d have bought it if I had a smaller 1911 because that’s exactly what it feels like.

Ok just qual'd with the ZR tactical "D" spring and I'd say it did help. It's not life changing but I did feel like there was less felt recoil and muzzle flip. Gun is a laser now. The gun does feel noticeably heavier with it in tbh

Which for CCW the weight actually isn't good, but I don't think it's enough difference you'll notice really walking around lol. Shoots better though, for $60ish meh it's worth it. Also, I shot about 40-50 rounds of 115gr Fiocchi FMJ, 0 malfunctions.

Just got back from the range. Happy to report the echelon dumped mags like it's supposed to now and it fired normally. I guess i put it back together ok. Lol

The pdp got a few more rounds through it and it shot like a champ.

I'm a bit bummed since I'm going on vacation and won't be able to shoot for a few weeks, but hey, I'll be on vacation.

The plate arrived at the store!

Unfortunately, will be out of town through Wednesday, so will need to wait till Thursday to pick it up and mount it. May try to get a range session in that day so I can try it out before I go on vacation.

I’ve seen some accounts of it taking a mag or two for the spring to break in and then running smoothly from there. Mine ran without any hangups from the get-go, so I guess it’s not an across the board issue. Might be worth running some more rounds through it to see if it has any effect on yours. But as I mentioned in another post, if it were a CCW setup for me, I’d probably go with either the D spring or OEM spring weight just to eliminate all doubt.

No. Only a couple of my guns are for defensive use and I keep stronger springs in them to shoot +p defensive rounds. Be realistic, you will probably never use a gun defensively. You don't need every gun or even most of your guns to be "combat ready"

So far no issues with the D spring

Mine is not a range toy. It functions properly on rhe D spring. The gun is on my Ccw. It’s is my most accurate shooting Ccw. Sorry Glock and stacatto

No. Only a couple of my guns are for defensive use and I keep stronger springs in them to shoot +p defensive rounds. Be realistic, you will probably never use a gun defensively. You don't need every gun or even most of your guns to be "combat ready"

You seem to provoke a lot of people so that's unsurprising, and it's still statistically close to zero that anyone will use their ccw. You also seem to have missed that the guns that I carry are set up to carry but I have 30 others that are not.

But yeah obviously most people aren't private investigators or working in dangerous areas like Oakland/SF etc nor are they truly capable if the need arose
