FYI, as far as I know this bill has not really gotten any traction even though two Sheriffs have backed it.Just picked mine up this morning. The sherif that gave me my card said a couple new laws were going to be going into place. One had to do with eligibility (I don’t know the details on that), the other was that they will be good for four years instead of two down the road (don’t remember the effective date for that either, but definitely a step in the right direction).
Edit. Looks like it might be this bill for the time valid extension….

“This bill would, for a license issued after January 1, 2026, and before January 1, 2027, extend the duration of those licenses to a period of time not to exceed 3 years from the date of the license. The bill would, for a license issued after January 1, 2027, extend the duration of those licenses to a period of time not to exceed 4 years from the date of the license.”
Our legislature hates us and the process being difficult and required every tow years is a feature, not a bug.
