I'm new to building rifles and was building my bolt action rifle build with my X-ray chassis and saw that the bolt handle inlet looked a bit off compared to the rest of the images on the internet. Is this normal?

Absolutely not normal. It looks like someone took a Dremel to it. That is definitely not a factory finish. Did you buy it new? If you bought it new they sent you a return that someone worked on.
I bought it new. I was wondering the same thing when I unboxed it. Looks like they messed up in cutting out that holeAbsolutely not normal. It looks like someone took a Dremel to it. it seems like you are correct. I received this message from KRG:I believe there are left hand and right hand versions of the X-ray.
There are left and right side pieces made for each with and without bolt handle cuts depending on which chassis the side-piece is intended to go on.
That inlet looks like KRG might have been out of right-hand right-side pieces and they hand-inletted a left-hand right-side piece to fulfill your order.
Any recommendations to make it look a bit better?
