Very cool. The 700 X can be used for all shot shell 25 ACP 380 ACP 9 mm and 45 ACP… i’ve seen load data for 38 Special up to 44 mag.But for those I prefer IMR 4227. I haven’t used Tight group.Lee has the spoon powder measure kit, which is very handy for hand loads. Just scoop it through and there’s a chart for each powder and you can check it with your scale, but they’re pretty accurate. Also, I like using the Lyman and RCBS powder measures you can pick the die
For the powder charge you’re looking for and then, as your cases are facing up on your loading tray, you can quickly go through and charge each case and then visually look down at the levels. I don’t do progressively reloading single stage only I’m not looking for speed.

For hard too find components I always go to
10-6 reload oc in Orange. I’ve seen some very rare and unique stuff inside that shop. 33 Winchester, 45 basic, 43 Spanish, 401 sl and odd ball and discounted projectiles. But they also have a huge inventory of powders and primers. And probably the only shop I’ve seen cater to the casting community. Real bullet mould, lube sizers, gas check, melting pots, swagging presses and J4 Berger bullet jackets. That’s crazy who stocks bullet jackets.

They always have inventory +1 on 10-6 reloading nice place lots to check out I did see them recently at Ontario gun show they can't sell powder there (fire code).

No powder and no guns at a gun show. This is why I stopped going to shows. I was always able to source some rare or hard to find reloading equipment or components but those days are gone now.

Just to jump in, over the past 20 years reloading has been getting worse and worse to source everything. It was annoying back in the early 00’s, got real bad, then okay, then bad, then kind of okay, then F- you bad, then kind of bad, then I sold everything because F- this not worth it.

Now I’m thinking I want a single stage for 6.5 only. Maybe, no, never mind.

Rocker chucker is a great press, I had the Redding T7 and a Dillion 650. Between, time, price, and finding components I was more pissed then just buying ammo. Sold it all, I have a few old shotgun presses in the garage still though. Out of sight out of mind.

Ammo, Guns, and Accessories are not always abundant. What you find on the shelf today is subjected to Gov scrutiny, State BS, and wars over seas. When you find ammo cheap buy as much of it possible. If there is a very unique import or hard to find gun pinch pennies and buy it.

It wouldn’t surprise me if in the near feature, restrictions are put on powder and primers. After that specific projectiles, then only (approved) projectiles. Which of course will raise demand and prices. Best to keep a supply on hand in case it hit the fan

Most companies source their parts from other manufacturers and companies from over seas. Primers, and powder, came from Ukraine and well when the war started that immediately went missing from the market. Surplus military brass was also abundant until Biden said no more and well that didn't help up either. But I'm sure for a time period some of our guns were just metal sticks with a bayonet.

So I started reloading again mostly to load soft shooting 125PF 9mm fire USPSA (not trying to save a ton of money or anything), but I also thought a benefit would be that I could get components when there is an ammo shortage during panics (dems winning elections, wars, pandemics, etc).

I just loaded my first 1000 or so 147gr FMJ 9mm with 3.2gr Titegroup and they’ve been great - just above the PF I need and REALLY easy to shoot, much softer than factory 115. I only got a 1 lb container of powder as I wanted to make sure it worked for me before buying a bunch.

BUT, I am now trying to re-up on a 8lb canister and I can’t find ANYWHERE that has ANY of this powder in stock. Is this normal for reloading? Do I need to just set a bunch of “notify me when in stock” notices, or is there a reliable place to get this stuff? I looked on Midway, Powder Valley, and a few other places Google suggested. I’d love to be able to buy some powder/primers/bullets all at once but it’s looking like I may need to just get primers and bullets then repay the hazmat fee for powder once it’s in stock…

Where do you guys go for these components?

I was in the shop just recently. I really like the new layout of the shop. I used to be local and would support that shop often but I’ve relocated to Santa Ana and now get supplies through 10-6 reload oc. I haven’t been to Phillips in over a year but planning on stopping by soon

There are great sales now for Labor Day. Powder deals are only at 8lbs, primers also at 5k bricks and bullet deals if you buy 3,000. All online , with the exception of Sportsman’s. If you have your order delivered to the store, you avoid hazmat and shipping. Sportsman’s sucks for projectile prices. I have rarely bought reloading supplies at a brick and mortar store. It’s usually double online prices.

No way could I use a single stage to load what I shoot annually , even in a slow year. I have used a progressive XL750 as a single stage , but I can crank out .223 pretty fast. For 9mm,.45 and .223 it’s more than enough.

My single stage is primarily used for sizing larger calibers, machine gun brass, swagging or making match grade ammo. Bulk stuff gets processed on a Dillon 750 or 1050.
Lots of good deals to be had at the brick and mortar locations without bulk purchases, just need to go in and ask. If reloading just common stuff then online is a good option but if reloading oddball stuff then walking in or calling is the way togo for me.

Just bought from Sportsman and the local tax rate drove up the price. Even with store pickup it drove up the cost per round more than buying in bulk online. Bad choice on my part. Forgot about excessive Ca tax.
