How many carry guns is too many?​

There’s no such thing as too many, and I think it’s stupid to have to list a specific gun.

In my county you can only have three but of those three they can be multi caliber. For summer I have an Sig P365 in 380/9mm, for winter a HK P2000SK in 9mm, and for wilderness I have a SW 627 Pro in 38/357mag.

Meh.. not carry guns for me! I’d rather have ALL of the range guns, and my couple dedicated carry guns. But just my 2¢. Everyone with there 10 carry guns could sure buy a nice range/competition gun… just sayin! Love me some 2011

lol yeah I was kind of joking. For me it’s as different scenarios as I can think of. A compact primary, a subcompact in case a particular day the way I’m dressed or a particular activity can’t accommodate a compact, another choice for off body where gun size doesn’t matter, a backup compact to the primary, and lastly an older beater in case I am going somewhere that I need to leave it in the car in a sketchy parking area.

2. Back up carry , In case #1 has a problem
3. The spare - tire of carry guns !!!!!

Also... Don't leave home without it ....

I have 3 because:

1. Default carry with most effective caliber and capacity
2. Backup carry in case of issue with #1, may be lower caliber/capacity for deeper concealment option
3. Pocket carry for shorts-and-t-shirt days

Now if I go into the desert it’s either the tp9 with 18 rounds or the g20. These are the open carry choices but city it’s concealed compact.

I don’t know about other IA, but my county allow 2 at a time. So, if I feel like it, I’ll carry one in a Fanny-pack and one in my waist.

Believe it or not, there were times where I felt it was necessary to carry 2 at a time. I’m so glad that part of my life is well behind me.

I think at least 5 is minimum but over 10 might not worth the trouble of qualifying for each gun at renewal. Technically, you are suppose to shoot at 20+ round with each gun at your renewal. Loading and shoot more than 10 guns in that one session is a bit much. The reality of it is that, most of the time like 85%, I am only gravitated to 1 gun for my daily carry. The rest are just backup. Like if I’m working on my favorite carry gun, or I want to shoot it at the range. So, I will be carrying another gun and shoot my main EDC.

Also remember, if you are ever get involved in a self-defense shooting, your gun will be taken in for evidence.

I have been running with 4 on my CCW, but went up to 5 only because I added on. I'm likely going to drop back down to 4 and eliminate my G27 from my license, which would leave me three 9mm and one .38 on my license.

I put my fav range/desert guns on there too so that way u don’t have to worry about transporting them locked or unloaded. And I could carry it if I wanted to in a pack. Doesn’t have to be IWB.

Imagine if SCOTUS had taken Bruen to the correct extent, and had eliminated all this “permission” business. All this jumping through circus hoops, many folks having to wait well over two years, etc. would have been a thing of the past. Nationwide. A citizen could carry whatever they wanted, and change from one day to the next. No more having to choose only a few from your armory.
Well, at least a few IA’s allow more than two or three.

(a) While carrying a firearm as authorized by a license issued pursuant to this chapter, a licensee shall not do any of the following:

(d) A licensee authorized to carry a firearm pursuant to this chapter shall not carry more than two firearms under the licensee’s control at one time.

In simple terms, regardless of the number of firearms authorized on your license, your license only covers you to conceal carry no more than two at any time. All others must be transported under the provisions of transport rules, regardless of their existence on your license, i.e.: unloaded and in a secure, locked container.
