Has anyone dared to install the Freedom Fighter into a Noveske N4 4th gen or LMT MARS-L lower?

Mag releasing with bcg locked back is irrelevant, the problem would be if the gun can fire with the actions separated via kingpin or hellfighter pin or whatever you use.

Push your pin so they're separated and pull the trigger with a round chambered, if it doesn't fire you're compliant if it does then fix it.
Mag drop with bolt lock back is for a closer to standard manual of arms. Instead of adding three extra steps, you only add one.

Never heard of anyone getting jammed up because their gun could fire while disassembled.

That's quite literally the legal threshold on if a firearm is disassembled or not for purposes of changing magazines.
If it can fire while the upper and lower are partially separated, (such as with an ARmaglock/kingpin or a Juggernaught takedown pin) then it's not legally disassembled.

Video or it didn’t happen

choosing a mag lock over featureless is 100% choosing aesthetics over function, there's no benefit other than instant gram
it doesn’t take any longer to reload a maglock vs a featureless. A normal grip is a benefit and the reason I use them.

it literally does take longer, you won't see a maglock at any competition for that reason. The normal grip doesn't actually do anything for you, you don't steer the gun with the grip you steer it with your support hand

Cool opinion bro

I mean what would I know I've only shot like 5 carbine matches this year. Keep in mind that featureless is just a grip change away from being completely feature-full. That said the janky grip just really doesn't matter and a maglock is much more of a hindrance to actually shooting the gun.

That’s great man thank you for sharing

I’m fine using a fin grip. Even the pinned stock is okay. What I dislike is having to use a brake. Also, can’t do featureless on an ARP.
there's plenty of brakes that aren't very concussive or not concussive at all. But yeah an AR pistol in California is also an aesthetic choice due to those drawbacks and magazine limit.

You don’t “have to” use a brake. Just go with a bare muzzle. If you are going to compete or want to actually train with the long gun for tactical purposes, you should skip the kingpin route and go featureless as previously suggested.

I have multiple ARs. I don’t want every one to be featureless.

With a freedom fighter setup you can turn the mag catch out two turns and have a normal functioning release.

I’m not suggesting you go featureless on all your ARs. Pick a cheap one you want to train or compete with and use that to train mag changes and clearing jams. Then just compmag the high end ones.
I have a LWRC and a MARS-H and I’m not drilling holes in them or any of my MCX. I wish I had a MARS-L, and if I did, I wouldn’t drill holes in it.

If you do decide to put in a plunger system, I’d have a machine shop do it.

This 💩 is all going away in the next year anyway when the SC decides Viramontes. If it isn't they will just be banned completely and it won't matter.

The only people I’ve seen choke in a carbine class are people with maglocks. I have a Thordsen featureless stock which I tossed to change out for a fin grip. So much easier. Leave this 👨🏻‍🎨t state , remove two screws and have a real AR. Come back to commiefornia, put the two screws back and you can still use Freedom Week mags. With an ambi safety , the fin is easier.

Hopefully in June , this bull💩 will all go
Out the window.

What’s happening in June ??

I have a MARS-L and I didn’t come here to drill a hole into it. But not because I’m scared to make that modification. It’s going to live its life as featureless.

The plunger maglocks are typically not advertised to work with Ambi lowers. But someone here got it to work on a Griffin MK2. That is what caught my eye.

If I’m going with a non Ambi lower I’ll have battle arms install their magazine release block or use the JLbillet. If I’m going with a semi Ambi lower the Griffin looks like a good option with the JLbillet. Many of the nicer lowers are either semi or full Ambi which limits my choices in the PPT market.
