Harbor Freight Braun 1k Lumen Light vs. Streamlight TLR1-HL, X300T, X300U, TLR-7 X Sub, FAKE X300U, GTL II, TLR-6!

My HF has been sold out for months. They finally got a batch. The key retention screws are metal, but the rail lock screw is plastic/polymer. I'm tempted with all the reports of "decent for the money" to exchange it, but I'm sure they're probably sold out again. Maybe I got a bad one (which happens to me a lot with HF stuff), maybe there's been a rush to get them out and the QC is slipping, maybe there's been a change in the production. Or maybe I just expected too much from HF. 😅

I just bought this 3rd gen HF WML. I can confirm that my rail lock screw is aluminum as it reacts to my birchwood aluminum black. Also all my streamlights (1x TL1 HX, 2x TL7 HLX) are rattle and don't stay on. I had to use some tape as shim and loctite blue to secure them and I thought that is the norm.

I would love to do that, please reach out to the forum admins on my behalf and ask them to add the ability to edit posts after a certain amount of time. As of right now, I cannot edit any of the previous posts at all, including the one from yesterday, so I have no choice but to add to this post in the way that I do. Additionally, even if I could do that I'm pretty sure there is a 5 video limit per post, so I would have to continuously rearrange videos as I make new ones. I bring in $0 for this content, and ALL forums counted together account for less than 10% of my views, so it doesn't make sense to spend that much time doing all of that.

More easily you could subscribe to my channel and view any of my videos at will :D

That's.... Odd. Mine was 100 polymer/plastic. Scraped down with a blade and a file, never hit any metal or aluminum.

My streamlight weapon lights have zero rattle and lock down tight. Again, odd.

Last, did your Gen 3 Braun light have a heavily knurled bezel?

Wondering if there's a generation "3.5" out there....

The aluminum is definitely feeling soft/light and yea it's just like what's in your pic
 
I have a Braun gen 2 that been mounted for over 2,500 rounds with no issues. The clamp system has never loosened up. There is a slight play side to side between the light and clamp that has been there since day one. And it worked great at the Richmond night shoot last week

The gen 3 has no play but the knurled lamp is starting to leave sanding marks on my holster.

Another one of those wild comparisons! Often times folks want to see how their micro compact light would compare to a full size light, so I make these even though they wouldn't necessarily be used on the same type of pew.

thanks for all the comparisons man. honestly these HF lights seem great especially for the money. i have a few surefire x300s and after one of them started acting up and surefire cs basically told me to F off i’m done buying any of their products.

Yeah, my last go round with Surefire CS was an absolutely terrible experience. Sad to see, especially with so many good competitors out there now.

yea man. i had one of my newish X300s completely drain batteries even when sitting unused. probably less than 5 min of actual run time just showing it to friends and it would absolutely rape batteries and the light would be super dim and start to flicker. sent it in for them to “test” it and tell me it’s fine, didn’t even send replacement batteries. got it back, put new batteries and it kept doing exactly what i told them it does lol. it’s now just being used as a frame weight to slightly reduce recoil 🤦🏻‍♂️
