Flash hider/muzzle break hybrid

Since it's a 14.5" barrel you will need to pin and weld it. Therefore, be very careful with your choice.

I prefer a linear compensator here as my hearing and those around me is valuable. A shorter barrel puts the blast even closer to your ears.

There are some brakes that come with a sound sleeve that is threaded. That way you can take it off.

Shipping to California has nothing to do with it. If the manufacturer identifies the product as a flash hider, then you can be assured that the authorities will as well. Even if they advertise it as a combination flash hider / muzzle brake, the keywords are flash hider. Unless you have a MAG locked rifle where you can have the flash hider device or you're installing it on a rimfire rifle, I would stay very far away from it for legal purposes otherwise
I understand the paranoia about the subject but so far I have not seen anyone stating outright it is not a legal device with any proof to back it up and anything I have ever tried to purchase from a manufacturer that was not CA legal they would not ship here "for legal purposes".
The whole thing is a joke imo, I'm very tired of what was legal in this State one year all of the sudden becomes not on what I view as quite trivial items, what was once termed as flash suppressors are now called "flash hiders" which is a crock of sheet.
I've owned many of the evil devices shooting at night, you still get flash.
CA legal M1A's are forbidding to have a bayonet lug yet to my knowledge no one has ever been bayoneted with a rifle ever lol.
I can only tolerate insanity so much!

My experience is the same as yours. These can easily be bought and shipped to your house. it's not illegal to possess one, the illegality becomes if you put it on a rifle that hasn't been maglocked. It's really no different than buying a threaded pistol barrel, you can order them and have them shipped to you. Absolutely legal to possess them and put them in your parts box. But if you install it in the firearm of course it becomes a nasty killing machine in california. And you're completely right, flash hider, muzzle break, compensator, I've used them all at night as well and you get some sort of signature from the rifle

But it isn't a joke! The legality has been discussed in this thread for various builds. The fact that you don't know what you don't know and refuse to comprehend what people are telling you makes your further advice on this site (or others) dangerous! For the good of other gun owners just stop. FFS!

We are controlled/ruled by those that have zero clue about anything.
Case in point, back in the 90's when I lived in Reno I actually rented a storage unit to hold all my ammo, I went in on a group buy for a pallet of Turkish 8mm, 450.00 got me 12 cases in bandoleers on stripper clips, 7.62x39 was like 70.00 bucks per a thousand rounds (1100 if not on stripper's), .303 surplus I got 250 round cans of SA belted Vickers ammo for like 65.00, 20.00 bucks I got a can of belted M60 ammo (no tracers) in the separate carry shoulder carry pouches, Shotgun News was awesome and shipping charges where not a big thing.
Normal range day I would pump out 5-800 rounds no problem, today it's more around 150-200.

Dude….I thought we had this stuff sorted on Friday.

First, the CA restriction is on “flash suppressors,” NOT on “flash hiders”. In fact, anything identified by its manufacturer as a flash hider is deemed a flash suppressor.

Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 11, § 5471 - Registration of Assault Weapons Pursuant to Penal Code Section 30900(b)(1); Explanation of Terms Related to Assault Weapon Designation

(r) "Flash suppressor" means any device attached to the end of the barrel, that is designed, intended, or functions to perceptibly reduce or redirect muzzle flash from the shooter's field of vision. A hybrid device that has either advertised flash suppressing properties or functionally has flash suppressing properties would be deemed a flash suppressor. A device labeled or identified by its manufacturer as a flash hider would be deemed a flash suppressor.
Second, also on Friday, we made the point that the item may not be illegal, but its use creates an illegal thing. (Others continue to emphasize this.) That may make vendors overly cautious on sales into CA. An AR-15 telescoping stock isn’t illegal, but if you install it on an “evil featured” gun, the gun is illegal.

I know this stuff bends the rational mind, but it is what it is.

Illegitimi non Carborundum.

Except on the Springfield M1A's, why is that?
What are you talking about? Lugs are not banned on m1as. Lugs were part of the Fed assault weapon ban which is sunsetted.

You need to stop!

Bayonet lugs are not banned.
They were banned during the federal assault weapon ban but that has sunsetted.
