CCW Car Storage - How to secure your weapon in an automobile

If meeting the letter of the law, and ccw firearm is not one you would miss, this is what was suggested in another forum. CA doj approved and cheap. << $20. My go to for shield and Glock. Search on Amazon for:
“Amazon Basics Portable Security Case Lock Box Safe with Combination Lock for Valuables, Documents, College Dorm Room, XL, Black”

I'm a new CCW and want to take my firearm with me in the car. But some of the places I need to go I'm not allowed to bring the firearm with me, so I need to secure it in the car while I'm gone. I'm wondering how others have addressed this problem and hope to get some specific hardware recommendations and / or cautions about what did or did not work.

Here is the problem:
I drive an SUV. If I stop, and go to a non-permissive area I want to lock the gun up. If I bolt a small gun safe to the floor in back of the SUV I have to get out, walk back there and obviously open the safe and lock up the gun. This is probably too much advertising and eventually someone will break in and try to get it.

I need a way to secure the gun while I'm still in the front seat. I'm thinking of a lockable storage that fits under the seat or in the map compartment by the drivers side door. That way I could lock the gun up without getting out into public view. It needs to be strong and solidly attached to the car.

I can't be the only person with this problem. When I go on Amazon there is a confusing array of small gun safes.

How have you solved it? What hardware did you use, how was it secured to the vehicle and how did this work out?

Thanks in advance for your help!
California (like many gun states) has recognized that people need to be able to secure firearms in their vehicles. Purchase a portable gun safe for about twenty bucks and it has a cable which can be threaded through a part of your vehicle. I highly recommend that you transfer your CCW pistol to such an arrangement at a different location so that it’s not obvious what you’re doing. By the way, it is now the law to secure your pistol in such a manner these days. Even LEOs were suffering from break ins.
