I still don’t get appendix carry. I’ve tried it a few times. It’s uncomfortable and points a gun at really import stuff. Strong side carry will continue to be how I carry. If I F-up I shoot myself in the ass. So I look stupid and use a donut, I don’t blow my off or bleed out before the RSO stops hyperventilating.

I think appendix carry comfort really depends on your body type, proportions, and the holster more than some other carry positions. If you have a suitable body type or know how to use your peaks/valleys AIWB can be as comfortable as strong side, you typically can conceal more gun more easily, the draw is slightly faster assuming equal practice/skill, you maintain better visibility and control of the firearm at all times, it makes sitting down or driving more comfortable depending on 3 vs 4 o'clock or left handed side equivalent, you have a better awareness of printing/shirt riding up, etc.

Not saying it's the only way or even that it's the best way, but it works well for many. Especially good for us 2011 ccwers.

Maybe not the race trigger, though some do. I prefer my carry guns to have ~ 3.5+ lb triggers and a manual safety. No grip safety though.

AND no Grip Safety!?!? Yea I’m being dramatic for sure but I feel like the oversized ambi manual safety of 1911/2011 is almost too easy to disengage with clothing or seat belt etc.

I personally only carry in holsters that have a cutout in the mid/high sweat guard for the manual safety that fully covers it and prevents it from being actuated or flicked off/down when holstered. Like Tenicor is great for this.

They're one of the best and one of the few quality holster makers that actually have stuff in stock rather than custom orders. If they support your firearm model I always start with them. They also have the best return policy of any holster maker I'm aware of that's a large maker. Pretty much the only time you can't return it if it's completely trashed or you're trying to game it by returning it right before they release a new iteration (they iterate pretty slowly so versions are years apart). Like the new Velo5 and Certum4 holster versions finally came out this year.

I'd buy with extreme confidence if they worked for you fit and model wise.

The shirt theory doesn't line up with reality. He shot himself on the draw.
Shirts pull triggers when you holster a firearm. When you draw a firearm from a holster the fabric of the shirt and firearm are moving in the same direction, up.

It's possible that he caught his shirt in the trigger when holstering and as he was drawing he pulled his shirt upwards and caught the trigger.

Yeah the same two as usual... don't know the full story since the investigation details were obv buried unless someone can post them, both are likely incompatible holster or foreign object like a shirt in the holster area..
