Where to get rid of BUCKETS of brass (40 & 45 & .223)???????
I am only going to reload 9mm. My friend took some of brass to a local recycle place for cash. Is it worth trying to sell it or should I just go to the local metal recycle center??
If i sell it what is the going cost??
I am in North Hollywood

Location? Maybe a member local that does reloading will purchase it from you. Recycling center will not likely give you much for it. You'd probably be lucky to get a dollar a pound for it of clean. Better help a fellow reloader by offering cheap brass as long as it's usable
 
I've sold some. It's kind of a pain for what you'll get out of it, unless the buyer just wants a low price on a bucketfull of dirty brass. Some calibers are worth it, 9/40/223 are not. 45 kid of is. For me anyway.
 
i prefer to give away calibers i don't use and think im building up karma for something good one day.. But that is a lot to deal with and scrap prices aren't bad right now.. just offer some up to any takers and dump the rest. some reloading retailers used to give you store credit if you sent them brass. not sure if any do that anymore.
 
I've seen local gun shows that has someone selling reloads buying brass but not sure how much they pay. Otherwise you can give to a local range. They usually sell the brass to some reloader/recycler.
 
I mean, I'll stop by and take your .45 brass if you're available Sunday evening.
 
I say call around and see what the going rate is for scrap brass. Before I move out of CA I posted on Calguns " free brass" . It was gone with in minutes. Since moving to Vegas I now recycle my brass. I have gotten more $$$ than I thought.
 
looking at those buckets you're gonna waste your time trying to scrap it sell it to a shooter that'll turn it around if it's decent brass they'll likely pay you way more than a scrapper will.
