What's your go-to powder?

TAC for .223. Titegroup for .45 ACP, .38 Spl, lite loads in .357, .44 Mag and .45 Colt. Unique for some. W296 for full magnum loads and .30 Carbine. Big Game for .22-250. Varget or IMR 4064 for .204 Ruger, .30-06 150 gr bullets (and Garand) and .243 lighter bullets and .30-30. Ramshot Magnum for .257 Wthby. IMR7828 or H1000 for .300 Wthby. H4198, Unique, IMR3031 for .45-70. H4831 and IMR4350 for .270, heavier bullets in .243 and .30-06.
 
Most used powders in my household consists of H335, IMR 4064, H110 and Unique. Running out of 4064 and cant seem to source any locally so let me guys know if any of you got any to spare.

That sounds like a total blast! I really like single-shot rifles, especially in larger diameter calibers. Let us know how it goes!
 
Bullseye if Im shooting average pistol.
H110 if I know Ill be in LA.
Man I love making the short line flinch ringing steel.

Rifle, its waffled btw H4350 and Varget to 600 yards.
1000yds+ its less powder selection and me thinking about how much brass prep and ocd neck tension to tuner logging I want to do.

Sometimes i like to bring a Lee Loader out just to get that one genius to yammer at me about how unsafe it is loading with a 20oz estwing hammer. Ive done 44mag ladder charges that way at a range and its hilarious. I think ive met a certain elderly reloading youtuber at San Leandro that way. Man that guy goes into full hysterics about safety issues that would be incredibly stupid or intentional.

We should meet up and do some chrono racing to freak out new "tactical" shooters.
Pull out a bag of 8" magnum revolvers and go to town.

I get that vibe from xp100 shooters trying out new barrel and load combos.
Kinda get a side eye from them that theyve got the most pop on the line.
 
I have always enjoyed shooting 3-4” .44 Magnum revolvers at night when loaded with strong doses of WW296/H110. Blue Dot is another one I use in .45ACP for the same effect.

I’m down! Need to break in my new-to-me Labradar. 😁 Had 3 ROs come to my lane last time I was testing 500 Magnum loads. One said I was shaking the tower. :LOL:

That'd be a hell of a thing to run 357 -> 44 -> 500 with the days goal of killing a bottle of powder.
Ive watched PRS and benchrest sled gun shooters do it if theres a reloading shed or haul a range reloading rig.
F class shooters seem to want to retreat into their fancy reloading bat cave and spend most of their time there.

Titewad for 12 gauge, and 572 for 20 gauge. At least as long as I can get them. I have a stash of Clay Dot for 12 gauge, and Green dot for both gauges. But may try Titegroup both gauges. Probably going to give up on Longshot if I can't find anymore 1 0z 20 gauge wads.
 
I reload for 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor. I used Varget for both for a while until I discovered H4350 for my 6.5. The Varget is great for 308, and there is a lot of other good choices such as Reloader 17 and such. The change from Varget to H4350 for my 6.5 was when a load was mistakenly too hot and it over expanded in the chamber. Stupidly, I pulled on the bolt too hard to extract it, and I ripped of the extractor right out of the the bolt. I know, newbie mistake. Plus with the Varget, I was blowing out primers frequently. And yes, I was following the load data to the tee.
 
BL-C(2) for 223 / 308
Accurate 2460 for 308
R15 for 223 / 308 (like this one)
IMR 4064 plinking 223
R33 for 338 Lapua
H1000 for 300 PRC
Retumbo for 300 PRC (trying it out)
Win 244 for 9mm and 45
Accurate No.9 for 357

Lately been playing with load data for 300 prc and 308 (new barrrel). I generally stick to what ever is avail for plinking and range days w friends. I order online for more “precision” loads if I can’t find what I want locally.
 
CFE Pistol for 9mm. Started using it when powder was hard to get. Been ok with it and haven't switched to anything else.
For 6.5 Creedmoor I use H4350.
For 6.5 PRC I used H1000.

True Blue for 9mm Largo and 45 Colt
BLC-2 for my Garand loads (4895 is expensive)
Still experimenting with my 45-70 loads

Mostly because I have a lot of the ones listed above already
 
For .44 magnum pistol, HS6. For .223, H335. For 9mm 124/147gr & 40S&W, WSF. Why, because this is what I stocked up on when powder was cheap. These powder also work well.
 
CFE Pistol works really well for me in 357 Sig and 45 ACP
TAC meters very well using my RCBS Uniflow powder measure, I use it mainly for 5.56/223 plinking loads using 62 grain projectiles.
Varget for 30-06 hunting loads using 130 grain Barnes TTSX

I have almost 16lbs of H4895 left, that I use for my Garand and other loads. If H4895 is still not available when I finally run out I'll be switching to BLC-2, which seems to be everywhere.
