Question What is typically considered a material change after certification?

It’s my understanding that you’re not supposed to alter a firearm after certification. If I have a P365-XL, would swapping to a compensated slide be considered a “material change”? What about changing the grip module?

Since the CCW card only lists the model and caliber, how would the issuing agency know if a material change was made after certification? Do they take photos or otherwise document the firearm configuration?

They wouldn’t know. Nobody is taking pictures and instructor only takes down serial numbers.

Just make sure mods are legal and IA doesn’t prohibit them under their terms and conditions and you should be good to go.

I have heard people say cosmetic/external stuff is ok but no internal changes. But again how would they know?
