What’s your favorite MSR oil?

Motor oil. Works great on everything I've used it on. More research and development is put into making a great motor oil then any other lubricant in the world.

Another one is differential gear oil if I want something a little thicker. And GM assembly lube is awesome too for it's ability to stay put

I've given up on any special gun lubricant as I see no benefits over motor oil. But I do see a large price difference

Yes. High sulphur content can make it smell a little off. But I rarely rapid fire enough to get it to a point where my firearms are making the oil smoke

But it's hard to beat the lubrication capabilities of a sulfur oil

I just use break free clp for my ARs, glocks and most other firearms. It makes it quicker to clean and lube. Not seen any rust or corrosion issues, do see some wear, but that is normal. These are nitrated firearms and I live in relatively low humidity so corrosion is not a big concern.

From time to time I will use Mpro 7 to clean the ARs. Want to try Boretech carbon remover on the ARs as it works well on my bolt guns to get carbon out of the barrel, should work well on the AR carbon. A bolt scraper does get the thick outer layer of carbon.

When I lube my guns, I put moly paste on the parts and cycle them about 100 times. Then I wipe off the excess and finish with standard lube/oil. The moly works its way into the microscopic pores of the metal and provides better lubrication than even pure Teflon. I could run my guns dry with just some moly powder burnished into the parts. It’s that good.

Slip2000 grease for slide rails and EWL30 for the worn/shiny parts on the barrel, my Sigs like it wet! Always have a film on the parts applied to even after a 400-500 rd range trip

I like Lucas heavy duty synthetic oil, smells nice, and doesn’t burn off easily nice. Gun butter isn’t bad either; as a hybrid grease and oil at the same time. Hoppes black grease is pretty good too; I know you said MSR, but it helped smooth out the bolt for my Ruger American Gen 1 7mm-08 of that dreaded from the factory whirring noise they are notorious for.

I eventually want to try jello sauce but feel like shipping for just one bottle isn’t worth it.

I remember when I first started off using gun oil, the hoppes clear oil would burn off so quick.

Slip2000 EWL (not the 30) made my tokarev pistol pretty slick.

I like the Lucas gun oils but, will generally use whatever is on sale. I also like the Geissele oils. What do you use?

Slip 2000 EWL or Weaponshield EWL.
For Grease, I like Milcom TW25b in the syringe with the on-off valve.

I use Mobil 1 lol. Works awesome!

I use all Royal Purple motor and gear oil in my Jeep Wrangler. Nothing better.

The guns get Slip.

My guns get Mobil 1 with some tungsten disulfide powder mixed into it. That is one of the very best full synthetic motor oils mixed with the absolute best dry lubricant. Slicker than Teflon.

That’s for the best possible lubrication. For wiping down surfaces to prevent rust, I use just the oil with no added tungsten disulfide.
