It didn't look like it was confirmed he was drunk, but that's beside the point, coming back with a gun when emotions are high is just asking for trouble.

I don't view this particular incident is a glowing endorsement of CCW/carrying, since it was started by a someone who was clearly making bad decisions and likely shouldn't have had a shotgun, but at least it was ended by bystanders before he could hurt or kill someone. I'm sure that if it had been police that took the guy out, MSM would be all over the story as another example of "look at this unhinged gun owner, we need stronger gun control!"

Actually, give it some time, they might still try to spin it that way.
