Just bought the jacob grey twc hex that came with an rmr plate and tried to put an RCR red dot on it but the capstan screws that came with the rcr are thinner than the holes in the plate what can i do to fix this issue

you probably have 6x32 capstans trijicon also sells 6-40 capstans.

capstans are hard to find so probably best to order from trijicon or the like. altho if you can find them on mcmaster or what not might work granted that doesnt necessarily completely make sense as i think the primary difference is thread pitch not diameter

would check with Jacob Grey what size screw is supposed to fit

Thats what i thought at first and went on the trijicon website and ordered the variety pack for the 6-40 just gotta wait and see if its gonna work or not

You could have also reached out directly to trijicon customer service. I needed longer screws for the American defense mfg absolute co witness mount. The correct thread that was included with the optic was only the short ones. They sent me longer ones for free.

yea (edit 4-40) capstans from Trijicon should fix this up, i had to order a set of screws to mount mine as well. Bummer they dont include all the screws when you but it.... should especially at that price point.

Reached out to jacob grey spoke with representative, the rcr will not fit the jacob grey and trijicon does not want to release a thicker screw to fit for now maybe in the near future….

i was wrong on thread pitch and after digging i think it will work if you order this https://www.trijicon.com/products/details/ac32127 this kit comes with 4-40 screws and that's what you need for the jacob grey twc hex plate (trijicon made this for zev style glock footprints that use 4-40 screws), you wouldn't use this plate tho just the screws. maybe if you reach out to trijicon they will sell you the 4-40 screws only.
