What kind of groupings do you typically get, and with what ammo?

Get an H&R M12 or a Kimber 82G from the CMP before they're gone. You already missed out on Winchester 52B,C,Ds.

I got sucked into buying a MKII FV and an Oryx that I found on clearance. Put them together with a spare scope and now I am trying to determine if I can make weekly range trips happen. Only tried 3 ammo types so far and the federal automatch bulk box was giving me the best groups at 50.

Will be upgrading that scope as a next step.

Have you gone to any local rimfire matches? I don't think I have met you at the NRL22 match I operate or the PRS rimfire matches run in Pala. You'll get a lot of ideas from what people are running and if you connect with regulars at these matches, there's a good chance you'll find out about someone selling a rifle or barrelled action, whether a CZ, Bergara, or something higher end like a Vudoo or RimX.

In the first few posts, there is a post saying a build needs to be under 1650? Are these 22 long guns competitions separated by price as well or tiered by price? And how does that work?

I bought a CZ 457 MTR Pro Varmint Chassis model package here, which at the end of 10 days or during my pickup, it netted me $40?

(I made 40$ from purchasing the CZ 457 MTR ProVarmint Chassis model, which came with 2 scopes and a pelican vault case. Which at pickup, no longer owned the 2 scopes and case.)

$1650 is referring to NRL22 base division rules:

"Base division is intended to be budget oriented and friendly to new competitors. Any rifle system that
comes in at or under a combined MSRP of $1650 USD, as listed on the manufacturer’s website, and
complies with the parameters listed below, shall be eligible to compete in Base division. This $1650
USD combined MSRP price is the limit for the sum of the rifle's MSRP and the scope's MSRP. Base
division competitors may voluntarily choose to compete in any other division if they meet the
requirements of that division."

EDIT/Added:

My opinion is to not bother worrying about Base division or PRS production/factory division. Just shoot a rifle you actually like (customize it for you). You'll get more enjoyment out of using a rifle you're highly confident in. Not to say you can't be confident in a Base division rifle. It's just that if I have a properly balanced rifle in a chassis that fits me perfectly (adjustable LOP and comb) with a scope that meets my discerning eyes, I just enjoy competing more.
