That's cool to hear! I wasn't shooting back then, my only experience being with turners over the past 15 years or so. Occasionally they have decent prices on new roster guns, but the ammo in particular has always been overpriced.

I will say since early 2000s they began to shift.I left ca in 2020 but still worked here and there in ca and went to one in south oc to get reloading stuff or to shop see what they had.Guy at door doing the covid temp test then ask me why am i here for what do i want to buy etc i said chill im looking for reloading bullets began the well what ones etc.Just said whats availible finally let me in.I pretty much had to have a reason to go and had to know what i was gonna buy specifically before knowing whats on the shelf.

I mentioned to another guy when looking and i did find what i can use so bought the bullets for my 30-30 but told him im working down here and just looking to find what i can i live in az he then tells me they just opened a store in az i said no thanks this is my last trip to a turners because of that guy and pointed to him said i dont deal with this crap and been a long time customer im done,Was last time i stepped foot in one and really no need to now anyways.

The last pistol I purchased at Turner's was this Walther PDP Compact 4" on sale for 649 beans. They were giving a C&H optic away with purchase which I sold for 165 beans. Had it ported, installed a ZR Tactical Vspec guide rod, installed the Dynamic Performance trigger, and removed the mag disconnect. It's a pretty nice little shooter now.

Long story longer. I tried to purchase this Dec 19, the day Walther stopped shipping to CA. It was on sale 30% off with free shipping so it should have been 125 OTD but they canceled my order. I tried sending it to a friend in AZ and they canceled my order because my billing address was from CA. Then I had friend in Vegas buy it, drove out to pick it up, and paid for them to see the Wizard of Oz in the Sphere 239. So it cost me way more than I wanted it to.

I was there yesterday doing a private party transfer and they had some .45 FMJ for about $21 per box of 50. Picked up the last three boxes they had, I don't think it was advertised.

I don’t know why they advertise guns in their flyers that they don’t have in stock. Not even that they sold out quickly, but wasn’t in stock when the sale began.

I’m becoming the same, an $800 gun becomes a $1000 gun real quick, ppt is the way I’m starting to go now unless I’m really impatient and can’t wait for one to pop up.
