Silly Question - Which Shoes or Boots are you Running?

Trail running shoes are the way to go IMHO. Military-style boots are great for 20 year olds that don't care about their joints.

I am old and my joints are . Brooks Cascadia highly recommended. They also have extra wide sizes.

A pair of Redwing Iron Rangers with a Vibram 2021 for stationary training and another pair with Vibram 4014 for more on the move training. Wedge sole for comfort and Heel sole for practical/duty. If I’m feeling flamboyant then some Nike SB Dunk High’s.

I'd like to get some lighter weight high top shoes or boots that will still be plenty grippy out in the dirt/rocks etc. Breathable a plus since it gets hot AF up here in NorCal during the summer. Coming off a badly sprained ankle, so a little ankle support is why I'm thinking high tops or boots.

I wore some USMC Issue Desert Boots to the Intro Class and they were absolutely not it, felt like I had lead weights on my feet.

Wouldn't be mad if these fit into the tactical type realm in addition to being able to be used for competition.

I started with some Brooks high tops but the tall heel drop was killing my lower back. Just got into a pair of Altra King MT trail shoes and they have great grip, a wide toe box, and 0 heels to toe drop. They are fantastic!

Lots of good recommendations for shoes so far. I favor the trail running-type shoes/boots generally.

I for the life of me can't remember the name of these boots but their almost slippers with super grippy bottoms. I thought they were bearfoot brand but I think they are something else. There is no writing or branding on em anywhere lol. I spend a lot of time in a vehicle so normal duty boots just suck. I needed something lighter and these things are fantastic. The bottoms are insanely textured

Any service related boot, specifically USMC, is gonna suck haha but if you do want boots, I've rocked multiple Belleville boots and they're great quality, durability, and comfort. Solomon recommendations are also solid.

I dunno. I have a couple pairs of these that I really like.

Ive also been trying to find some good footwear, buy once cry once type of shoes that will last years.

Been curious about Crispi footwear. Only recently heard of them and they are up there in price but they look like they could be worth the price. Honestly though, most good boots or all-terrain shoes cost a couple hundred.
