Under the shipping and compliance part of the description, is that meant for places other than CA? I thought SB 704 was in effect and this slide assembly “kit” includes the barrel. Can it still be shipped directly to Californians?

The kit can be sold as it is, what someone does with it in terms of compliance before installation is up to the individual purchaser - more or less - is what I’m getting. So, it seems it’s legal to sell/buy the kit as advertised in its unaltered state.

Illegal to mount in CA unless you have the comp permanently attached. Many people will choose to do this. Some will keep it stock for out of state shooting. Im sure some will also just break the law.

R66 should be selling them welded already. They could end up in hot water as they are a company selling both the pistol and a slide meant for that pistol. Unless they are making people sign some sort of waiver but even then idk…

You have no idea what you’re talking about. No one will face legal consequences for selling a slide. Don’t spread misinformation. Selling a slide is no different from selling an AR receiver and upper. Do better, don’t fear monger.

Yes, if you install the slide without complying with state compliance regulations, you’ll open yourself up to legal issues. Simply owning or purchasing the part doesn’t not.

If I had to guess it's because the GT5 and GTO both use the full length dust cover while the GT4 is shortened. I like the idea of being able to get a dual use sort of setup on the GT4 but if it's not compatible that's kind of one more reason to go with the GT5. I keep wanting the GT4 but logic keeps pushing me back to the GT5.

If I had to guess it's because the GT5 and GTO both use the full length dust cover while the GT4 is shortened. While I have not shot either yet, the 4 feels better balanced in the hand. The 5 is rather top heavy, and particularly noticeable when you rotate the gun to initiate a reload.

On a different note - regardless of what Californians have said about the 320 drama or felt about Sig as a company with how they handled the fiasco, I suspect the 211 will still sell like hotcakes here. This is probably one of the best budget 2011s to hit the CA market.
