I’m trying to find a smaller firearm that’s optics ready and I can’t pick between these two, there is a lot of good feedback on the shield plus and there’s an optics ready slide at turners or I can go with the CSX but there’s just still not a lot of solid feedback for it yet. What would be the better one of the two?

Shield plus or CSX e series for EDC?

It's rarely ever easy to pick a gun for someone else without much info from that person.
The Shield Plus is often referred to as the best pistol in its class and the choice of some pretty prominent and well regarded reviewers on YouTube. It is Striker Fired ... Do you like Striker Fired pistols? It's also on the Roster, which means it will cost significantly less than the off-roster CSX-e. I own a Shield Plus, I have nothing but praise for it, as my CCW of choice for light-duties and small print.
The CSX-e, being a hammer-fired single-action pistol will be liked by people who like exactly that: Hammer-fired, single action. People who love the 1911 will typically be partial to this one. Although I see a lot of glowing praise for the CSX-e (as opposed to its predecessor the CSX), it's one drawback is that it is an off-roster pistol that will cost significantly more than the Shield+ and harder to find.
Deciding on a gun is really your decision. I have learned not to ask anyone anymore. I just buy them both in the used market, own them for some period of time and find out for myself. I can always resell one or both of them once I've made up my mind. Owning them both is the best way to decide. Good luck

I don't think either is a bad choice; I'll share some Shield experience though: I am on #2. I bought an original Shield when they first came out. Over the years I've put about 60k through it. It's still accurate, and reliable. When the Shield Plus came out it was an easy choice for me. I will sometimes shoot my Plus in matches and do as well with it as I do a G-19. It is shockingly easy to shoot it seems; it's accurate, and it's reliable. I trust my life to either of them. I've never had an issue that I didn't cause. And as R said, the CSX-e is off roster, so if it were me, based only on my sample of 2, I'd go buy 2 Shield Plus's and skip the off roster premium. And would feel very well protected. I have an optic slide that gets moved back and forth between the two. I've even moved the barrels a few times. Never an issue. Apex makes a pretty good trigger also.

The Shield and now Shield plus is one of my most accurate pistols I can shoot in the microcompacts. My first range trip didn't think would like it. The Shield plus fixes the small capacity of the original and new trigger is nice. Just wish the safety was better and came stock with night sights.

I don’t have any experience with the CSX but can definitely recommend the Shield Plus. I have two and carry one of them often.
