Legal SB-704 Firearms: firearm barrels - It's been passed by committee.......

Is it?
One or two things in your reply that I don't quite understand. However, as an example, My wife and I about three (or so) months ago wrote a letter to Governor Newsom. About two weeks later we received a letter, from the Governor that directly responded to each one of our concerns and suggestions. Did we change policy, probably not. Did he read our letter? Yes, it's obvious he did. Is it possible that the things we said might roll around in his brain and resonate with him at the appropriate time? I would like to think that is a distinct possibility, at least that is how things work with us.

Not every letter we write receives the kind of reaction this one did but, there is an old adage: "If you throw enough 💩 against the wall, some of it is bound to stick".
My theory is that you reached out to Newscum during a time when he was smart enough to realize if he has any chance of getting to the White House in 2028, he better tone down his far left rhetorics. But now he is doubling down on his far left antics. Again my theory is he sees zero chance of his future presidential run, his party is getting pulled in all directions. Never trust people like Newscum. He "may" have read your letter, but I bet he rather threw that into the trash than care about your feelings.

My mother wrote to Diane Feinstein back in the 1990's. She got a personal reply back.

It didn't change the outcome.
Good for your Mom! You have to understand these people are the sworn representatives of their constituents and they need to hear / read opposing points of view so they don't simply operate in an echo chamber. Just because we don't always get what we want doesn't mean we shouldn't keep trying.

I'm pretty sure you and I on opposite sides of a number of issues but, I still ardently encourage you to present your logic, reasoning and desires to your elected representatives. The only way this country will survive is if we find compromises.

Thanks for your input, I can tell you are very emotionally invested in this topic.

To be clear, this isn't about our "feelings". We presented a well reasoned, cordial and logical letter to the Governor and he responded in a very specific and receptive manner. Additionally, all official correspondence with the Governor is preserved and archived.

Quite honestly, my first choice for POTUS after we rid the nation of Trumple-thinskin would be Tim Walz but after seeing and hearing how well Governor Newsom is dealing with president Turnip's authoritarian and 🥔 actions and predisposition, I would gladly support Newsom if he is the candidate.

Tell you what, I will stop with the stupid nicknames if you agree to do the same. These insulting nicknames are nothing but petty bullying.

Bud you're talking about a guy that is literally working hand in hand with federal law enforcement and has been for a decade I'm not entirely sure the "far left rhetoric" is what you think it is.

Newsome is a liberal, just like the current and former president.

Butch Ware is the only California politician making any sort of "🍌" rhetoric presently.

Go to the other thread and it’s the opposite.. In a way I’m glad it’s not an echo chamber one way or the other.

The hard part, right leaning guys say omg It’s so Dem, the dem guys see the other post and think it’s a like Calguns. When it’s literally US Citizens in California speaking to each other.

Or do you prefer we don’t have these? I always ask to get a feel as this is a social experiment to see if the community can handle it or just prefer to keep it a niche site?

My understanding was discussion was good.

Marxists and 👨🏻‍🎨ts literally enshrine the right of the masses to arm themselves and defend themselves from the ruling classes over almost all other values.

I don't personally identify with either of those things, but I recognize that if the factor that brings people to this forum is gun ownership those people would belong in this forum probably more than the majority of bump stock banning pro feds storming peoples houses without justification types of conservatives I see in other gun forums.

Donald Trump and Ronald Reagan have done more to destroy our second amendment rights in this country than any 👨🏻‍🎨t ever has that's for damn sure.

I know this might be triggering, but it's not meant to be a politically offensive statement it's just the truth.

For me, Excremento has affected my 2nd amendment rights far more than the federal government. The roster, bans, gun taxes, no open carry, no suppressors etc are all something the feds don't do. Arizona is the model I prefer. There I don't feel like I'm the enemy of the state like I do here.

For sure I moved to California from Texas and it's miserable. Personally I don't recognize this as 🍌 politics though I see this as an outcome of liberal politics which most on the right and left of the "center" all embrace.

Conservatives played just as much of a role in the foundational limitations of both California state gun laws as conservatives did in my opinion they all hated the black panthers(an armed organization that was actually 🍌 and believed in pro second amendment peaceful protests and community defense).

If you believe in the second amendment first you have more in common with black panther panthers. If you believe in liberalisms conservative edge first then perhaps that's more important than the constitution and it's amendments to you.

I suspect most gun owners actually have more in common with black panthers than they do with Trump or Newsome however.

Panthers got us no open carry laws. Reagan signed some bad laws. He hated blacks and hippies.

The recent 2nd amendment attacks by the one party legislators is off the charts here. One might think they ran out of new gun laws to conjur up but they are very creative.

I'm in independent for good reason. Those two parties are responsible for many mistakes.

The negative part of social media, this forum included , is that it is a terrible ways to communicate complex and nuanced realities and concepts. It’s often just fragile egos and denial of how subjective our beliefs are

When we organized our neighborhood to deal with crime and the state / city policies that enabled it, there were a few simple rules.

No email communication , especially no group emails unless it was to set a meeting time.

No texts unless it was to set a meeting time.

If you need to talk, call or text to set a time, then walk over and talk to your neighbors face to face.

It ends misunderstandings which arise imaginary tones of voice. People don’t hold themselves up to be the target of every statement. All the introverts who spend their time complaining online don’t show up to meetings or roll up their sleeves to help. People are much more civil when talking in a group. Assh o les never show up. They just don’t as they don’t play well with others. They are too busy pointing out the faults of others online and aiming to be the best to have time to be useful.

We have a great neighborhood now. Everyone gets along and it’s nice to get a knock on the door. We have diverse points of view which is great for real world problem solving.

Gun clubs are the same. If you are at a USPSA practice or at a meet , one day will give you more than a year reading online on all gun related issues. An RO at our club is head of the local CRPA chapter.

Dumb… not a political guy here, but i think this is a very dumb bill. What are the chances this gets shot down at or after the assembly ?

Be a single issue voter. For 2A. Everything else works into place if we win 2A.
Single issue, gullible, poorly educated, delusional, hateful voters are the people who have have gotten us into the horrific situation our nation is in today. The second amendment ONLY works if every other clause and amendment in our constitution is respected and abided by.

From Wikipedia: ".....Arreguín became involved in the campaign to change the name of Army Street to Cesar Chavez Street"

Tells you all you need to know about this dumb bill's author.

The 👨🏻‍🎨ts only supported the right to bear arms in the context of overthrowing the bourgeois class aka the small business/middle class person. After that, no way would they allow you to own any guns. That old saying “you can vote yourself into 👨🏻‍🎨m but you have to shoot your way out of it” might was well be considered fact when you look at the history of 👨🏻‍🎨m.

And as far as gun control goes: which party has controlled the state government going on 50 years? Which party has consistently backed gun control and made it a part of their platform? Which party has only expanded gun control and is in fact doing so as we scroll?

Give you a hint: it’s not the Republicans.
