San Bernardino – CCW Timeline

This is the timeline of getting my CCW with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s office. I wanted to get my permit as soon as possible. So, this represents the options that were available to me. Each completed step, I made sure to schedule the fastest available option. Money was not a factor. Time was.



May 8th, 2025 - Application submission

Peritium requested document uploads

May 9th - Live scan at Records office – walk in

May 14th – In-person interview

Sept 25th – background check – Passed

Oct 3rd – 4th – 16hr training – completed

Oct 6th – Approved permit.

Awaiting card in hand. Will update when received

Duration - 4 months 28 days

They call as soon as you leave. They will tell you to text those people to give them a heads up.
 
Other than the 3 gun limit on the CCW, really happy with my experience getting and renewing my CCW here in San Berdoo. Fortunately, my renewal came after they finally got through the delays caused by the IT issues a couple of years ago so it got processed on time. I'm glad to see them getting back closer to normal.

I just got interviewed Thursday and they did call them, they ask you to text them to let them know they will call to ask questions only 90 second phone calls to each reference

How was the training? How far did they want you to shoot from? You did the training both days in San Bernardino? Or elsewhere

They are behind on printing cards. ETA unknown but will be notified once printed and mailed shortly afterwards.

Good luck! I need to renew later this year, so i hope they get caught up printing the cards by then. I received my renewed card the day mine expired last time.
