Ruger PC Carbine Bolt Stop Spring

I lost the bolt stop spring for my Ruger PC Carbine (part #55). It isn’t available on shopruger.com, so I called warranty repair. Unfortunately the repair guy said they won’t ship the part to California, and they won’t send the part to a friend who lives out of state because he doesn’t own the gun. I can’t seem to find an aftermarket part, any ideas where I can find a replacement spring (or something close enough).

I remember this exact question coming up in the last couple years and I took my PC carbine apart and measured the spring and a standard AR front sight plunger spring may also work.

Was cleaning my PCC 9 tonight. Flipped the receiver upside down and my bolt stop flew to the ground. Reassembled my carbine and realized I am missing the bolt stop spring. Where can I get a replacement. OR is there a similar spring from the AR15 that would work? Part #55...

Looks like you found a solution. Wondering if Ruger will ship parts to the local gun store and have them order it on your behalf. Annoying to all around but we might need to do this for a number of other vendors. Could be a boon to local gun stores. Mark up in pistols and ammo is very poor. Accessory type parts have good mark ups which should help keep them in business.

What’s kind of funny, I decided a decade ago, if I could only have one pistol, what would it be and how many should I have. Won’t bore you with what pistol. I decided on 4 of them. My close gun buddies thought this was a bit extreme to have 4 of the same. I told them it ensured I would have enough spare parts just in case. Starting to look like I wasn’t crazy given how CA is making getting parts more difficult and this will likely will get even worse as time goes on.

The AR front detect spring works great. I also ordered an assortment of springs from Amazon and this worked, but it is a bit softer than I would like and not as positive as the AR spring.
