What's up everyone. Is anyone going to the match this weekend? If so, stop by and say hello! I'll be your Range Master for the match to make sure things go smoothly. This match we have 237 people signed up, one of the largest Level 1 matches we've ever had. Come through and check it out if you're in the Bay Area, even if you can't shoot to check out what it's like.

We also have a special guest. We've been building up the club quite a bit and become fairly popular with a lot of well known top shooters coming by. For this match, we'll have Christian Sailer rolling through. So make sure you take some video so you might have the chance to compare how you run like one of the best in the world, and the best in the USA.

I enjoyed watching parts of the match today (Sunday). It was great meeting new people, everyone was very helpful and gracious in answering my naive questions.

The experience was fascinating for several reasons. Firstly, I find a much deeper appreciation for such things witnessing it first-hand; for me video has lesser impact if I lack a frame of reference (e.g. having done it myself). Secondly the talent on display was impressive. Everyone I saw was quite good, several were amazing. Third, being the nerd I am I was geeking out on the hardware. Simple things like the ubiquity of collapsible carts used to ferry equipment from car to shooting bay, how competition belts come in two pieces fastened together with velcro. I know it's silly, but basic elements like that are foundational to any experience. Hugely educational.
