Question Revolver Gunsmith in SF Bay Area?

Hello All,

I have an H&R 999 .22 that spits lead when shooting.

I spoke to Hank at Reed's to see if he could re-time the action so everything would be better aligned and cure the spitting, but he said it isn't worth it on these guns. Hank said that these guns weren't designed to be disassembled and serviced.

Is this true of my H&R 999? Are there any good gunsmiths that could offer a second opinion?

If no practical way to fix this gun then I'm selling it… no sense in having a gun that isn't fun to shoot.

I have one of my own. For Sentimental reasons I have kept it however I can only shoot it now reliably in single action .
The internals are a very soft steel and probably parts are no longer available .
Given a minimal charge for his work probably would be more than what the gun is worth.
