Registration questions

Hello everyone,

We have been here a few weeks and need to register our weapons. Three questions:

• Is the $19 fee per weapon? Per packet?
• Is there a continuation sheet (haven’t found one) for multiple weapon systems?
• We have read CADOJ sometimes need pictures, should we just submit them with the packet?

1) The $19.00 fee is per arsenal, provided that all weapons in the arsenal are reported at the same time.

2) No. The instructions contained on the registration form call for the applicant to use additional copies of the form.

3) I would recommend waiting until asked to provide photos. No point in raising a concern unnecessarily. Anecdotal reports suggest that DOJ is requesting photos where weapons are at a higher risk of being illegally configured (like AR and AK platform weapons). Please note that some persons, including myself, have commented that prior versions of the new resident reporting statute did not address photographs, and that prior versions of the statute provided that a reporter's duties were complete upon submission of the form, the the conclusion that you don't gotta supply photos if requested. It's important to note that the statute was amended by Assembly Bill 3064 last year to provide DOJ with the authority to request photos.
