Hello, I would like to share some recent C&R acquisitions of mine.

First up is a CMP expert grade garand in 308. The wood grain on this one is amazing!

Next up is a National Postal Meter M1 Carbine. The rifle is lightweight and is quickly becoming one of my favorites to shoot. The only issue is that it sometimes flings brass back into my face which I read can be remedied by buying a later generation operating rod which changed the ejection angle.

I specifically hunted for a NPM M1 Carbine, just for the cool sense of history and "all-hands-on-deck" aspect of the war effort.

I've heard NPM aren't as collectible as Rock-Ola, Winchester, or IBM but didn't care, haha!!

OP, both look like nice pickups!!

last I heard CMP offering carbines was like 7-8 years ago by lottery. If they have any now its by auction. Carbines from CMP dried up decades ago. Not sure how familiar you are with the CMP. Its not clear if OP was saying he got either gun from the CMP. Just that the rifle was a CMP gun, but he could have bought it from a dealer or a private seller. There are lots of CMP guns in circulation.

I love the M1 carbines, always wanted one but finding them up in NorCal has been hit or miss.
 
The CMP marketplace is good picked up some nice stocks from there. Also the classifieds time to time might have a decent deal
