Hey there fellow Cagun members I live in the Bay area over in Sebastopol, just wondering where you guys all go to shoot long range. I usually go to cow mountain but the max range is 400~ yards just wondering if anybody knows where I can go for somthing longer, preferably close! I would be intrested in joining a club if that got me into some good ranges! Thanks!

The Range run by ALG in Gonzalez has a 700yd range.

Looks pretty sweet, anything more north? That's like a 4hr drive from me

Sac Valley Shooting Center has a 600yd range and maybe longer? You either need to be a member or go with a member/club though, but I recall it being easy to hook up with a long range rifle shooting club at no or little charge to do it years ago.

Still a couple hours drive for you, but could make a day trip out of it and hit some Amador wineries after shooting off that’s your thing.

Nice I'll check it out, i like the idea of making a day out of it! Thanks!

Astoria Range in Soledad has a public 700yd range that's pretty fun, benches plus a barricade lane with shooting ports. Paper targets at 100yds and steel out to 700. Long way from Sebastopol though.

Anything farther than 300yds at Sac Valley is only accessible during classes, club events or with members who make reservations. A non-member can sign up for long range practice with the club that shoots on the 1000yd range at Sac Valley, they're a great bunch of folks. https://ncpprc.com/long-range-practice/
Awesome, thanks dude! Great info, the Soledad one seems pretty sick too, is that one free or is there an entrance fee?

I think it's $36 to shoot all day at Astoria, and you can go from one range to another, i.e. shoot your rifle at 1000yds and then go shoot steel targets on a 25yd range with your pistol.

I signed up for the practical pistol class at Astoria in May but found it I have to go to a wedding that weekend 😭

It’s $25 I was amazed, for a 4 hour class
That's crazy cheap!

Sweet that's perfect may take a weekend and find a cool place to stay and go shooting, are they pretty much open except on holidays or bad weather?

East of Anza Borrego State Park. Check their maps. In Imperial county shooting is open year round without seasonal closures. Then again, it's been over 100 degrees out there.
I'll check it out thanks! Appreciate it!

Open either Wed or Thu-Sundays, but they sometimes close if it’s rainy and the roads get too muddy. Check their Instagram or FB for updates. Not much around there besides farms and a state prison but Monterey & Carmel are worth visiting.
