So I know that flash hiders are prohibited on assault weapons. But say you have a bolt action rifle that accepts AICS magazines that are detachable. Can the said bolt action have an A2 flash hider and be legal and be alright to take to ranges on occasions without an issue? Or are flash hiders just a big no in general regardless?

it's fine the assault weapon features are in regards to a semi automatic rifle or pistol. That said you will likely have a much better time with a non concussive brake.

Bolt actions aren’t affected by the AWB.
Yep that was the idea, too. Muzzle brakes always concuss me and make me go home with a headache, especially if someone else is using one by me. A2 Flash Hider seems more realistic and comfortable to use. Thanks!

yeah i hear you they can get pretty crazy. I only use ones that flow horizonally vs angled backwards. The SI j comp is pretty decent and cheap.
realistically i just want an a2 flash hider as long as its legal. less dust in my face and less fireball in my field of view, and minimal concussion going on.
If you are having a problem with the muzzle brake blast switch it out for a linear compensator. The blast will then be directed forward and not to the sides. You can sit next to someone shooting and not get hit with a shock wave. The person shooting won't feel any blast or shock wave at all. Kaw Valley makes a good one.
