Purchased; Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp!

I couldn't zero the optic because I didn't have a .380 ACP bore laser, and the only target I had was 15 yards away. I did order one so I'll zero it soon with the appropriate bore laser.

I'm not a big guy, about 5'3" and 162 lbs. and the gun just fits my hands so nicely. Granted, I love big ol' heavy CZ guns (like my TS2 Orange) but this thing just fits well. I use the Eric Grauffel grip with my index finger hooked around the front of the trigger guard. Grauffel is a demo shooter for CZ and has won a spate of gun competitions. I read reports from others and made sure to try to avoid slide bite. The P365 already got me bad once, leaving a nasty blood blister. That happened when I slammed a mag home with my palm skin between mag and gun. OW.

I ran several ammo types through the BG 2.0;
SIG SAUER Elite Ball FMJ 100gr
Magtech Round Nose
Sellier & Bellot XRG Defense 77gr hollow point.

All of the ammo ran fine. The SIG I was worried about because the ammo doesn't have a round nose, but it's not overly flat either. Ran fine!

I did okay with the gun. I handled it much better than I did with the LCP Max, which I just didn't get along with despite all of the M*CARBO upgrades I added, and I wasn't great with this gun before or after the mods.

With the BG, I hit a metal target a few times that was at least 20 yards out, though I mostly missed it. I did a little better at 15 yards but the targets I use have a bunch of very small bullseyes on a sheet, so it's challenging. I still need more training and practice. I'm inconsistent, but there were moments of brilliance. The gun is great, and it's me who needs training with it.

The tricky wicket was figuring out how to take down the gun for cleaning. WIth the BG 2.0, it helps to have a mag in, pull the slide all the way back to lock it, then take the mag out and rotate the takedown lever down. Didn't know that trick going in but I figured it out. The P365 is similar. I finally was able to actuate the safety with plenty of Lucasoil gun lube, and I lubed the gun generally. The slide is stiff at first, but the safety lever is nigh impossible to actuate without some initial lube.

Overall the BG 2.0 is phenomenal and has NO business shooting so softly for such a tiny gun. It's definitely a keeper. I'm sure the non-comp is fantastic too. The Gideon Pebble performed admirably with no issues despite my not being able to zero it, but that's coming. The Pebble's buttons are soft with a nice feel, unlike the Osight SE which has the WORST buttons. However, Osight has some of the best packaging ever and an amazing assortment of screws. The Pebble features a side-loading battery, where the other optic for the BG 2.0 (Viridian RFX1) has a bottom-loading battery and the dealbreaker for; it's auto-brightness only.

I let one of the range RSOs try the BG 2.0 and he really liked it. I'm sure other range denizens in the future will want to try it once they see it.

Score: 90 out of 100. I just need more time with it!

The picture shows the type of target I was using at 15-16 yards. These groupings are from the TS2 and A01, not the BG 2.0. :)

There was no optic for it for the first 6 months or so. It was clearly designed as a pocket / short distance carry gun.

FYI because of how the Bodyguard 2.0 is disassembled, the optic must be completely removed from the slide every time you field-strip the gun for cleaning. (thus re-zero'd)
  • Remove the Body Screws: Use an Allen key to back out the two small vertical screws holding the optic body down to the dovetail plate.
  • Lift the Optic Off: Pull the aluminum housing straight up. The small metal mounting plate stays permanently tight inside your rear sight dovetail groove.
  • Clean the Gun: Proceed with the standard Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 field strip (rotating the takedown lever and removing the slide).
Because of this bottleneck, many pocket-carry owners choose to stop doing full field strips after every range trip. Instead, they lock the slide back, leave the optic fully attached, and use a blast of aerosol gun cleaner, a toothbrush, and a bore snake to clean the barrel and action from the open ejection port. They only completely disassemble the gun once or twice a year.

You can also get them milled for an RMR plate if desired.

I was able to remove the slide for cleaning even with the optic installed. The slide comes off the body without any issue.

I may go back to iron sights if I want to make the gun easier to carry, and I'm also curious to try the original sights.

I upgraded my iron sites to XS R3D 2.0 Night Sights which was a marked improvement. Since then others have released replacement sights.

I found safety was easier to engage if you you try to hook it underneath with finger nail, release is much easier. Pretty sure safety will get better after many many repetitions.
Maybe a little sanding in safety caveat will make it even better, but must be careful not to over do.
I did deeper cleaning the other day, and mag disconnect got lost. I also polished feed ramp a little bit and purchased Galloway Precision -10% guide rod/recoil spring combo.

I don't think I'll go with optics just yet, only because LA county qual is 7 yards. Need to send few more boxes of ammo down the range, and figure out how to deal with blisters. I heard this things helps

Took my carry comp to the range today with the pebble optic installed. Easy to zero. I had around 6 FTF in the first 50 rounds. Then zero for the next 150. I still hate to have any though. Also looking into the extended back straps people are 3D printing. I have rather medium hands with a high grip. First time in my life I got cut from the slide decently.

Ouch!

What ammo are you using? It can be picky. Try the Galloway guide rod, lube her up good, polishing the feed ramp and ball ammo (95-grain round-nose FMJ).

I also use Talon grips on the front of the slide, it can be hard to cycle with the tight spring and fully loaded mag.

I'll have to give that a try if the issues persist. I used fiocchi, blazer, & magtech. Had FTF's with each in that first 50. I took it down and lubed it up before the range today. I'll attribute it to the initial "break in" period.
 
My BG 2.0 is a malfunctioning POS. Federal, Fiocchi and blazer lots of failure to go into battery. Don’t trust this thing AT ALL. Watched a guy try and qualify with his for CCW, same deal. POS Goes back to S&W tomorrow.

Sorry for your troubles.
Is it the Comp version? Have you shot 400 rds? (break-in) Does it do it if you remove one round from the mag? All ammo give the same amount of failures? Blazer is known to have issues with BG. Fiocci is better an Federal is best. If all 3 have the same result it's most likely a problem with a binding recoil spring or an out-of-spec barrel hood.

S&W warranty is lifetime, whatever it is they will fix it.
 
Took the BG 2.0 CC today and shot 90 rounds without any issues. WWB FMJ with flat nose fed without any issues. The other 50 rounds were New Republic USA round nose fmj. Sure does get warm fairly quickly. Also not shooting left. (y)

Nice! I shoot the flat nose as well, seems to like it. I haven't shot my CA version yet, I will be pleasantly surprised if it doesn't shoot left!

I think my front sight just a hair off center too, but I’m not sure if I want to touch it. I think there are more chances I move it more than it needs to be.
I’m an average shooter , and have big paws
7 yards .
