Today I received a text regarding my firearm for sale, claiming their "willingness to pay full price" and send me a money order. They texted with a San Jose zip code. Just giving everyone a heads up.

On Gun Broker people almost exclusively pay with money order.

Cash the money order first before doing DROS. If buyer says no, then no deal.

i was wondering if zelle is safe for both parties
The thing with Zelle that i learned was that you don't get instant notification of confirmation of payment, same with wire transfer. I've done both, and both we're smooth transactions but it's something to look out for.

That language is a classic, the exact same thing that people say on craigslist and facebook marketplace for like 20 years. DO NOT cash the money order because when it bounces your bank will generally charge you.
