Picked up a Shield 1.0 for $550

Actually I haven’t shot the vp9cc.. I’ve shot VP9SK. Didn’t the VP9CC literally just come out? Or the CC9?
It’s been out but it only got imported to the USA recently. The VP9SK is a true sub compact not a micro

Tell that to OP, not me. We appear to be on the same page. OP is comparing a Shield 1.0 to the 365, not the Plus. I'm sure a Plus with a Holosun is worth over $500. A Shield 1.0 is not. I sold my Shield 1.0 for dirt cheap, and was happy someone even wanted it.
Ok but what about a shield 1.0 with a shield plus optics ready slide, holosun 407k and mags/holsters? 🤔

This thread gave me hope I could sell my shield for more than 3 McChickens.

Post it up. Might sell at $550, might not. Different people have different reasons for buying, you just need to be patient and wait for the right buyer. I will say this: every Shield (yes, even the 1.0s) that I've thrown on my watch list on here have sold. So, "trash" or not, there's clearly a market. Personally, I don't have infinite money to spend on firearms, so I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't think it was worth it.

I’ve got a 20 piece with your name on it lmao

No joke though, this stupid thread has me thinking I need a small pistol in the near future since all I have are full size

The Shield 1.0 is most definitely not trash. I have repeatedly said it is a good gun. But its old (released in 2012) and there are a lot of better options on the roster now (including the Plus). So people shouldnt be surprised if no one is very interested. I got my Shield 1.0 used over 10 years ago for $350 and it came with the +1 magguts kit and new grip tape. I sold it for $300 with 2 extra 10rd Promags. And I was happy someone even wanted it. People need to be realistic.

I feel like maybe the Promags devalued your pistol.

It’s possible. I bought it off a friend that’s a deputy that’s helped me so much for free with my racebike, I owed him more than one. Add up just the price of the trigger light and optic, optic cut lol it’s a no brainer

Tempting, I'm going out of town next week but when I get back maybe I'll post a classified ad and link it on this thread so I can get roasted in the replies 🍔🍟🍟🍟

Promags definitely took away value. lol. Did it have optic cut, trigger kit, etc?

You can look at the customizations one of two ways:

1. Customization detracts value, because i don't want those modifications and any changes i want to make i can do myself.
2. Customization adds value. I can appreciate what's already been done, because it saves me hassle, and probably $$. I can always mod anything I don't like.

I, for one, think everything done to my Shield by the previous owner adds value. Now i don't need to buy everything, bring the gun to a shop, have them do the work... In the end, I saved $$.

It's like buying anything though. Do you want a car or bike or XBOX or whatever it is already modded? Depends on the buyer.

And, I GET IT... there's better options on the market now. The gun is an older design. Technology has improved. My budget helped guide my decision. I had a set dollar amount i was looking to spend on a micro 9. This fell within my budget and it had all the upgrades already included.

Yep Exactly. I already had a Shield .40 before so I knew what I wanted, he had done all the good upgrades and saved me about a grand. No brainer

Picked this up with the custom milled slide, a beat up 507k x2, Apex trigger kit and some sort of fiber optic sights, 3 mags, TLR-6 for $550.

The 507k x2 is out for warranty so I upgraded to an EPS carry which seems sick.

Shot a stock p365 on Monday and honestly thought the Shield was nicer by a good margin. Probably going to make it the micro on my license alongside the P2000SK and PDP Compact

M&P is sort of the unsung hero of CC after getting used to it the only pistol that can compare is the HK imo.

I'm a snob though. I'm going to stick my hat in the ring for the M&P being the right choice for full size choice as well.

Very loosely related to this thread, but I wish there were more readily available 4” barrels for the shield line, since we can’t have the threaded ones S&W sell
