Orange County CCW -- New Cards

Orange County CCW - I got my renewal cards in the mail and noticed the new cards are different from the old ones, the quality does not seem to be as good as the old ones.

Also interestingly, they are now issuing multiple cards to accommodate and list firearms when there are greater than 5 on the license. I have 6 listed on my CCW, so I was issued 2 cards: The first one lists 5 firearms in the back, and a second card listing the 6th one.

Here are the 2 cards I received, and upon closer inspection, they are not the same:

On the left is the Standard License, and on the right is the "second" card.

On the RIGHT, the card contains less info on the front and seems it is supposed to only serve as a list of all the firerms on the permit (particularly when they exceed 5 firearms, which is the maximum that can be listed on the FIRST card.)

However, there appears to be a problem with the SECOND (right) card. See below:

This card is supposed to enumerate the "FULL LIST" of Firearms on the entire license (as stated clearly on the Front). IT DOES NOT. It will only list the SIXTH Firearm and forward. The first 5 Firearms on the list do not appear here.

Presumably, this was done to eliminate the requirement to carry the paper permit, which contained a list of all the licensee's firearms. As I recall this was discussed in great detail on the calguns (hope this isn't a violation) forum

Yes indeed. Not fun to carry a disintegrating license. Glad they offered an alternative, and OCSD has always been great that way.

Clearly, a ball was dropped upon execution though.

The one on the left must always be on you when you’re carrying, as it contains all of your info and serves as the actual permit. The one on the right is an addendum to list overflow weapons, and need only be on you when you happen to be carrying something that’s actually listed on it. In other words, if you’re carrying any of your weapons listed in 1-5, you only need the first card. If you’re carrying #6, you need to have both cards.

Yes Sir, we can deduce that much. The issue is that the second card is wrong. I have OCD, and my problem is what if the CHP Officer who just started his job yesterday has OCD too :D

Ah gotcha. Yeah not sure why they put the word “full” in there. Honestly I doubt it would ever be an issue as long as you can show that whichever firearm you happen to be carrying is printed on one of the cards. Mine are spread across three cards and I just keep them all in my wallet all the time.

I got interviewed last week in OCSD and the office specialist moved my CCW application for final review. Status in CCW Pro was changed to "Moved for Review". How long usually will I get an update and what is the next status in CCW Pro? Live scan and Training already uploaded during the interview process.
