Starting a new company where we may offer some tactical light solutions to our clients.
I remember seeing OLight having some issues in the past but also a lot of great reviews.
Did a search here but "for sale" post are the only things I can find.

Looking for actual product feedback about Olight, Please not things like "----- company is better"
Even specifis like which models are popular and maybe what to stay away from as I have not used them personally as of yet.

I have the PL-Mini 2 Valkyrie 600 lumen model and it works great. It's affordable and rechargeable. Only an "On" or "Off" setting which is what I wanted (no flashing, etc). Fits my P-01 great as well as a lot of smaller handguns and the quick release is nice. It is also plenty bright although the lumens drop after you have it on for 10+ seconds though not drastically.

I had the PL Turbo. It didn't survive 300 rounds mounted on my 1911. The light had a catastrophic failure of mounting hardware and appears to have been made from Beijing Car Bumper

Buy once, cry once! Sell quality gear… when I see/hear someone peddling Olight, they lose all credibility in my eyes.

Exactly what I asked people not to post. if your going to crap on a brand at least explain why.
Why does a business have to not be ok if they carry a brand you don't happen to like. I may have many customers that want it.
You have a local gunstore you go to? Do they lose credibility because they carry something you think is not quality?

I would tell them I only use Trijicon pistol optics. He’d still try to convince me that other stuff was better. Cool! I don’t buy it, I don’t want it! He would push it every time I asked him to get me an RMR. He lost my business, even though he’s down the street.

I think stores should push quality products. Develop a relationship with your customers so that they believe in you and your product. Like I said before though, your business, do what you want. I am offering an opinion of something I would like to see in a gun store. Not enough shops research and offer quality gear. They push what they can get cheap and profit on. You do you boo! But don’t come asking for opinions and not expect to get HONEST opinions

Thanks for your feedback . seems like the issue is the store owners/employees you dealt with were more focused on what they wanted to sell rather than explaining the options and letting the customer "you" decide.

As you may not like O-Light, others do and I am just trying to do my due diligence before carrying a product. Thats why I was asking for specifics of what others here may have had good luck with and like. I for one will buy those items and use them before offering them for sale.

I use two PL-Pro weapon lights on my duty weapon. I leave one fully charged while the other is mounted on the weapon. I like the charging function and not having to buy batteries. I work nights, so frequently have to use it, and lasts about 3 weeks. Light has low and high settings and simple to mount and manipulate.

The Olight attaches to the firearm securely with a flip of the tab. I have plenty of Surefire X300's and I have to eventually change out the mounting hardware as the screws and rail pieces would bend or wear out.

It's not perfect. While the light is bright, the versions I have the light beams are a little yellow. Some people might prefer battery powered lights as they only have to carry extra batteries and not an extra weapon light in case it goes out and needs to be immediately replaced. Regardless if your weapon light goes out and need a light source immediately you just to switch to a secondary light, such as a flash light, or have to dismount the weapon light anyways to change the weapon light or batteries anyways.

Finding a holster is going to be limiting as well. I run a Glock 17 with an Trijicon RMR and the Olight and it luckily fits securely in a Safariland 7TS holster designed for the firearm with a Surefire X300U. I have one in my locker that I switch to when I run a pancake holster.

I also run with Baldr Pro R on my pistols at home and never had issues with them.

I had a PL MINI Valkyrie 2 for a while. I had no issues with it. I did like the quick-release lever on it.

I switched to a Streamlight TLR7A because the on-off switch was more reachable for my index finger. That and I liked the replaceable battery. USB recharge stuff is handy, but it only lives so long for so many cycles and then when it dies, do does the device. A USB-recharge light will not have as many recharge cycles as a standard flashlight or a cell phone, but it's something to consider.

I gave the PL to a buddy and he mounted it on his VP9, he has no complaints. Probably because it was free.

I had an Olight PL-Pro for my rifle that I didn’t really have any problems with. However, there were a few things that got me switching to Streamlight.

1. I feel like the lumen of the light was overstated on paper. As it didn’t feel as bright as the lumen stated by Olight. Also, the light output is a little yellow.

2. I realized that rechargeable battery is great, but not practical for a rifle mounted light. So I wanted the ability to replace the battery if the light ever die on me during use.

When I use my TLR-1 (not the HL, but I do have both) & ProTac, I actually felt it’s even brighter than expected considering the lumen the company rated it at.

I do not own any other OLight product, as I was honestly, not impressed with the light I got. the price was not much cheaper than Streamlight.

I think there’s nothing wrong with carrying certain line of products, as a business owner, it’s your decision. I would assume that you’d know your customers best and market accordingly.

I have had a Warrior X3 for a couple of years now and have had the tail cap replaced four times and this last one is starting to have issues. Customer service has been good about replacing the tail caps.

The light is adequate for my needs. Would I purchase another Olight; probably but depending on design and Q&A's from Customer Service first. (The Customer Service ladies I have spoken with have been helpful, answered questions, and courteous).

I did purchase from Olight direct and not a vendor. Would I buy from a vendor instead of direct; that would depend on return/or part replacement policy, but probably if it is what I want at a reasonable price.

I’ve had a few O Light WMLs over the years. Most of them went in guns I don’t use much. In general, and I say this meaning no disrespect to these people, I feel like the type of person who buys an O Light is generally not the type of person to use the light so hard that it fails. For that reason, I don’t think O Light is inherently bad. They’re just not as well suited for the customer base that really pushes their equipment. The idea that someone who keeps a gun in a bedside safe and shoots it a few times per year needs the same type of light as someone who kicks doors for a living is funny to me. I mean, if money is no option - sure, buy Surefire, Modlite, etc. However, there are so many people who would never see the return on that investment.

As for what I thought of the lights:
The output was alright. Although, I didn’t like that they had different output settings (high and low).
The QD attachment was really convenient, but didn’t feel robust - probably because it wasn’t.
The magnetic charging was annoying because I always misplaced the specialized cables. Meanwhile, I always could find micro USB or USB C cables.
The buttons where fine for me in both the full size and the mini. I’m mainly of the constant on camp. I’ve heard the momentary-focused folks complain about how a short press leaves them in constant on when all they want is a short flash.

All in all - I didn’t love the lights, but they worked. I no longer own any O Light WMLs, but do have a couple small pocket O Lights. I do actually really like the O Bulb.

a) You gotta remember that nobody comes to the internet purely to say how happy they are. 99%++ of people who go to forums, post bad reviews, etc. are all looking to whine & complain, try to solve problems with a product, or commiserate / dog pile on with others who have had problems with a product or service.

I mean; outside of SOF / SEAL / Secret Squirrel war / combat; WTAF is anyone going to do to "push their light so hard it [will / could] fail"?

And if you are at all planning on being in a situation even remotely resembling that; why TF aren't you carrying like 4 lights?
