I have had a few over the years, I remember buying my 1st one in the early 90's for 129.00, it was a Norinco with the Planet of the Apes stock. With all the cool stuff I ordered from Shotgun News I bought another 2 months later lol, ammo was dirt cheap. My next one was an SA-85 in the late 90's that once again I tricked out bringing it back to it's original configuration with proper Bakelite red furniture. I have a WASR 10/63 today, trunnion dated 1968, days of blasting 50 round drums are long gone but man it was fun just to churn the dirt just for sheet and giggles.

is your under-folding stock still functional? love the way that looks but i think i have to have someone weld/pin it to be always open.

Nope. Piece of copper pipe slit on one side is installed on the shaft which blocks the folder button from being pressed.

How would one load an AK with a fixed magazine?
It's not like an SKS where one can load from the top or an AR where the upper is simple to remove, on mine I just installed a simple wrap making it "compliant" which takes less then a minute to remove or install. I have removed it many times when shooting at a range with never a problem along with seeing many others with normal pistol grips with detachable mags blasting away. Personally I have adapted quite well to featureless stocks as all my AR's have them, I would never have one for combat/field use but for range shooting I don't have an issue.

Not to me, that's like a KS 47 AR-15 build.
Just because a rifle cambers a certain round and takes a certain magazine does not make an AK.
Real question, does it look like an AK to you?

I miss my SA-85, bought it back in 97 and completely restored it with original furniture.
Ammo was so cheap back then.
