What are you thoughts on the Noveske KX3 / KX5 muzzle devices? I see no use for it as a flash hider, more as a gimmicky blast mitigator like the Q whistle tip. Maybe I'm wrong?

I think this came out over 20 years ago and there wasn't much competition in that space for devices like this so everyone wanted one, it was kind of new and Noveske was huge back then and the founder was making some great products. It's a long time ago, but this is how I remember it.

In my opinion looking at options today, I don't think it's an ideal solution with so many options out there.
 
it’s a good booster for pistol AR’s that need a little more omph to cycle. Had one a long time ago it was funny as hell, but the name flaming pig and the little logo should let everyone know. This is a flash enhancer, not hider. You could see the fireballs in bright sun at high noon when you ran one.
 
I have perm attached lots of these over the years for people with 13.7" barrels looking to reach 16"+ legal length.
They are really well made, far better than the original KRINK boosters that they are based-on.
They are heavy.
 
If you arent using a muzzle brake or compensator you may as well run a 16 and if you are running a 16 inch there's no point in that thing. I'm a fan of the SI oppressor that fits on their brakes, the SI brakes like the J comp are actually fairly effective with low concussion(and cheap in the first place) but if you need to shoot indoors the Oppressor screws on and saves your brain tissue from being rattled too much

I shoot my especially loud and flashy type of muzzle deviced guns indoors to share my love to my pistol and 22lr shooting neighbors to the left and right of my lane. I already have hearing loss and some of the worst tinnitus from live fire-for-effect on 60, 81, 120mm mortars without earplugs. (i can shoot AR 556/223 indoors without earplugs and not feel a difference from before shooting it is how bad my hearing loss and tinnitus is.)

Am I an ass at the range? Maybe.
