#3 Has nothing to do with armed vs non armed staff and has nothing to do if you are behind the counter or in an office. If during the scope of your employment you can touch guns&ammo you need to take the test (basically all employees with a COE)

The issue is a lot of people pay attention to youtubers, including gun store employees/owners. Then, if you're someone who tries to give correct information, you're fighting this uphill battle against misinformation.

I mean this has always been kind of a problem, but it was incredibly apparent last year with SB-704 and AB-1263. Just a constant stream of misinformation. It lead me to the realization that, AB-1263 in particular... They aren't reading the bills. They get the summary presented by GOC/CRPA, they read the legislative digest and maybe highlight some actual text for their video, and that's where the analysis stops. Because if they had read AB-1263 while it was in session, they wouldn't have all talked about it being a ghost gun bill (which is half true) and instead talked about the shipping/ID regime it setup for all gun parts.

And the only reason they didn't talk about that, is because Rick Travis and Sam Parades devided up the bills they were going to be in charge of lobbying that year, Sam had AB-1263, and then before he could revise his original public summary to talk about that, he died, and Rick was left trying to play catch up by himself the rest of the year, and didn't update the summary. So I don't blame GOC/CRPA for not updating the summary because that's just tragic what happened (Perhaps the gun groups in general need to budget for more than two full time lobbyists in Sacramento, but that's another topic), but what it did make extremely obvious was none of these gun youtubers were actually reading the text of the bill, because if they did, they would have seen AB-1263 was about a lot more. Only youtuber who got it right was Reno May.

And then you had Don Hammond with CA Gun Law News & Updates; I like his demeanor generally, other lawyers say he's a great lawyer. Absolutely just getting tons of things wrong on legislation last year, constantly corrected in the comments but didn't fix his mistakes, I mean at least he took down the videos that were incorrect on when the bills became law (since he didn't read the part in the CA Constitution that controls that). And the whole time, he's leaning into his lawyer credentials every video, so you can trust him, right? Nope! Like his legal advice is generally fine I guess because that's what he deals with at his law office, but oh man his legislation videos were bad. I hope he improves because I don't have anything against him personally.

I dunno last year made me mad; mad enough to seriously consider trying my hand at youtube. I mean hell AB-1127 and all the gun stores misreading the old stock exemption to the Glock Sales Ban continues to piss me off this year. I've heard second hand that there were CA DOJ field reps feeding misinformation on that as well.

This is all a long post of saying: Hey kemasa I remember you on Calguns, and how I can remember that thread where you were the only one who was right on no longer being able to import C&R firearms in the mail despite CA DOJ processing the paperwork (Because the papework didn't indicate people were importing them in the mail at the time), and now I think I have a better idea why you seem grumpy in many of your replies.

we, the citizens, are allowing this. instead of filing endless lawsuits that go nowhere for decades against these bills/ laws, why not remove the people who keep making these bills/ laws, so that one does not have to keep filing these meaningless lawsuits

As much as everyone focuses on Newscum, he is relatively irrelevant when it comes to anti-2A and wildly stupid legislation. The supermajority of whackjobs in the legislature can pass almost anything they want. Newscum can either sign the bill or do nothing and it becomes law.

For ballot initiatives that the left doesn’t like, they either ignore it, don’t fund it, raid funds for some other purpose, and if challenged, refuse to defend it in court. The left has the goalposts in their sights and won’t let something as trivial as the will of the people stop them.

Given the shear volume of legalized election fraud, this state is toast after the next election cycle in the absence of federal intervention. Governor Becerra will be the final in the coffin.

You mean like the CA DOJ giving bad information and contacting them several times pointing out reality (federal law), yet they continued to give information which would cause people to commit federal crimes?

Or gunbroker giving out bad information and even pointing them to a BATF newsletter with the correct information wasn't good enough for them? Their attorney wanted a personal letter from the BATF attorney, which is never going to happen especially since they had already put it in writing and likely had their attorney sign off on it.

Or dealing with the BOE (now CDTFA) to get them to correct sales tax with respect to a private sale from out of state to a person with a C&R FFL, getting completely bogus responses back? At least with them I was successful.

I can even give examples from this site in which a person conflicts with what is on the CA DOJ web page.

I wouldn't say grumpy, but it does get old trying to get people to accept reality. I shouldn't really try to get the pig to sing, but I also hate people believing false information and causing them to commit illegal acts.

At least you remember the outcome of that story, that is a plus, and I really mean that, it shows that it makes a difference to some people.
