Modded a JT AR Handguard

I have a couple 9mm AR-15 uppers. I like this 5” barrel upper, but without the ability to legally run a foregrip was not comfortable with so little real-estate for hand.

So, decided to mod takeoff JT Pistol Handguard.

The 9mm foxtrot barrel uses 1/2x36 threads so bought an adapter 1/2x36 to 1/2x28. Removed 1/2x36 linear comp and assembly w/the JT comp.

Square up, remove left/right side “rail” beginnings.

This shows size difference. Broke front edges with a file, aluminum cold blued machined area. Then painted, sealed it and assembled.

Have the ability to switch handguards back and forth if needed and much more functional in this nanny state with no foregrip.
